Exactly. How many people get the opportunity to discuss the exact details of their jacket with the people who make it? There's a real sense of connection and ownership.

Here's what Holly said here a couple of years ago: "Aero NEVER put Sam Walker labels in the jackets we sold to them. Any jacket bearing a Sam Walker label was NOT made by Aero, this is 100% fact."

I can't understand why this has remained so confusing by some over the years. Aero made 'Aero' jackets that were sold in Sam Walker shops until Sam Walker decided to start copying Aero's creations. Then Aero decided not to have anything to do with Sam Walker. Yet there are still those that insist that Sam Walkers were made by Aero. :p

It's great to be able to add your own artistic input into something. No skills or talents needed. Just a good set of eyes and intuition. The makers seem to take notice and value our ideas. Obviously revenue is needed for any company. But I think we have a rare and good thing going with this jacket culture, where everyone is valued and helped out. Long journeys of pain and disappointment in the process, but it's a fun ride.

Do Aeros sold in Sam Walker stores have standard Aero tags? Been talking to a guy that's selling a Sam Walker jacket for 500GBP, which he claims is made by Aero, but I'm not convinced. . . Here's the jacket: http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/...rs-kozna-jakna-slika-39196248_zpscd21602b.jpg

And Nick, bang on - Just the other day I've sent a list of approx. 100 modifications I wanted done to my jacket, and to my surprise, Aero greenlighted 'round 99 of 'em. Tough not to love these guys, specially taking into consideration that not many makers would do be willing - or capable even - to do something like that.

Yes, Holly said they wee tagged Aero. There are differences in the SW jackets. Black ones went through various phases. Brown had 2 models...PM me for details.

The willingness to modify is pretty present across not only Aero, but a good chunk of makers. Aero kind of started it I think...and they agreed to do a special Hippie Jacket for me, which I can't get any money together to order. Holy jeez, if I brought in a dress I wanted made in leather, Johnson Leathers would probably be happy to do it! And look at this extended sleeve cuff everyone's scratching their heads together trying to work out with that Bill Kelso jacket. I even remember Chris from Aerial Star asking ME what my thoughts were on some of his models. Very communal if you ask me. Yes, businesses no doubt but still pretty cool. Great hobby/subculture/fetish!

It's really great to hear that Aero seem to be offering a level of customisation again. When there was the big managing personnel change a couple of years back there seemed to have been a stop to chopping and changing jacket details but that might have been to get through the big backlog of corrections that had to be made with the "storse" episode and the Aero US shenanigans.

Some of the best Aero jackets I've seen were some with customisations, JanSolo's heavily modified Cheyenne is possibly my favourite Aero (look it up here if it's before your time as a member here as it's just an absolute stunner). I still want one. I reckon if Aero made it a standard offering they'd sell a fair few ;)

EDIT:

Here's the link to Jan's Cheyenne:
