I've bought jackets in the past just because I've been curious about them and know that living in Australia, I'd never get to see one first hand out in the wild, let alone try one on!
So I've bought them, checked them out, worn them a few times knowing full well I'd most likely sell them later...
Courtesy of member @KBlake. ELMC Californian walnut. I’ve sized up to a 44 now for a bit more of a relaxed fit with room for a light layer if needed.
Definitely a keeper.
Personally, while I love Aero and have owned about 20 of their jacket over the years, they aren't good riding jackets in my experience. They just aren't cut very well for it. You need a jacket designed to allow high arm position (depending on your bike's riding position) and for me that is...
I went to order the size up but they didn't have the walnut available at that time. I've been meaning to sell off 2 other jackets first but havent had time.
I used to be obsessed with finding the "perfect" measurements but as you've discovered, different patterns can make jackets fit differently even with the same measurements.
A half inch difference isn't going to make any realistic difference in how a jacket fits when worn out in the wild and...
They must run with very low inventory (or selling a lot of jackets?). They were out of the black when I ordered a Windward about 12 months ago, it was about a 6 week turnaround. Likewise they are out of the Walnut currently, it won’t be back in till early - mid April before they can start making...
Thanks @mumpy but I expect I’ll have to go brand new unfortunately.
These things are just too rare in the aftermarket to allow the option of the size and colour I’m after.
I guess the same situation that makes me need to buy a bigger size in this is also making me sell a few other jackets so...
@Marc mndt thanks for the info and the heads up on the one on the VLJ forum, it’s a great price but I’m definitely after one in Walnut and I’m thinking the 44 might be a better bet for me now. I’ve got an ELMC Windward in Black and that scratches my itch for a black cross zip jacket
@mumpy I...
@Marc mndt, can I ask what size chest do you have?
I've gained about 8-10kg in the gym and had to sell my old Roadstar which was a size 40.
That was boarderline too snug on me at 73 to 75 ish kg and a 41 inch chest. I couldn't wear anything under it but a T-shirt.
I'm now about 83kg with a...
I trim them down. The certainly help but are way to long. I just cut off about half the length. Best of both worlds, it keeps the ease of zipping but removes the streamer/ribbon look.
