I must say, that I haven't got my boots soaked and I prefer half sole. Me thinks it shouldn't be the first concern...I'd also welcome kickstart plate in my boots
Hey, oneeyeman...to each their own. Been down once...rear-ended a car which stopped suddendly in a jam. hitted the car at 40km/h. Still no protectors :eeek:
Darwins been good to me, been riding over 30 years...and planning to do so looong time still. :D
Blaaahhh....
Wear what you want. Be ready to go hi-side, and always keep the rubber side down ;-)
No protective gear here except the lid, as it's mandatory....
Ok, this pic clears things a lot. And you and I are totally differently built. ;-) (if I'd wear jeans that sit 5" below my bb, I'd be showing some serious pubic hair LOL)
Just suggesting, these might work for you...http://www.ironheart.co.uk/bottoms/ih-666s-19l.html only half inch higher...
out of curiosity what is the front and rear rise of those jeans which sit 5" below bellybuton?
(trying to determine wheather you have really different build body than mine or you wear hippy ultralow rise jeans) ;-)
Speaking of IH jeans, I think only model they are offering that comes as high as your bellybutton is 1955S. I have several their jeans, though most of them are variations of 634 and d Beatle busters, and they sit on the hip. BB's are nicer for riding a MC as their backrise is a bit higher...

A note of 461, quite low rise, nothing like Levis 517 which is high rise. also 461 is non-selvage, though made with same...

Then compare with existing pair with similar propertie, or measure yourself and figure it out
May I testify...:D
I have several heavier selvegde jeans, from 18oz to 23. More is ridiculous IMHO. I also have some IH Hickory Stripe loggers that are 16oz.
Also have some lightweight around 13,5-14 oz selvedge jeans. And non-selvegde.
The Denim doesn't go away with washes, LOL. It just get...
