I concur. I have several dress and casual fedoras and while Silverbelly surely makes for a versatile thin ribbon, I also vote for a warm gray for an all around dress /business casual fedora. I had Art make me such a hat with a 5 1/2" open crown, 2 1/2" brim, and 1.5" black ribbon in granite...
I ordered a couple caps this summer directly from Hanna and it took them a month to build and another couple weeks in shipping - via Frankfurt, Germany! Hang in there!
I hope this works out for you.
I am a big fan of Hanna caps and have several. Not sure if you know but they recently came out with a new style, their "Newsboy" cap which is less full than their standard "Eight Piece Cap":

I am truly jealous Worf! I have at least six more years and I have been counting down the days already (in addition to fanatically checking my investments almost daily!).
The "only" potentially bad part of retiring is that you may have less occasion to wear your jackets, hats, and other...
I love my brown Bootlegger, it is probably my favorite horsehide jacket, but every time I see your cordovan Bootlegger I want one in that color as well! A very nice look.
Check out places that sell longer than normal ties. While only 5'7", a lif'e of weight lifting/bodybuilding and the resultant 18" neck and "high chest" necessitates me having to buy long ties as well so they don't end up mid-chest! (of course shirts are a whole other issue!)...
I am fairly fussy about my beard as well (which unfortunately makes me less tolerant of those with straggly beards or people having them who really can't grow a decent one - which seems to be most men these days!).
I don't think your falls into either category and I think it suits you well...
