thanks nighthawk for enjoying the review...
however, i went out tonight to drop off some mail, put the aero highwayman on over my tshirt...got in my car, and drove off to the mail drop...
by the time i'd returned, and looked at the jacket on in the mirror, i realized...
First off, let me say, aero does nOt make a ‘luftwaffe’ version...of aNything...I did however order a Highwayman horsehide with all options that would be as close to a luftwaffe jacket as possible...from the photos of the Highwayman it seemed it was basically a ‘hartmann luftwaffe’ in basic...
SKiES the LiMiT...
boy, cirrus and aero...when it comes to jackets, sky metaphors are the order of the day...
which wasn't your question...but to that, i will say that i wanted to get a luftwaffe jacket, but was ok with getting a modern version that basically was the same design, though no...

guLp, who thought i'd ever be using 'rumsfeldian' phrases to describe my take on something...or is that 'schwarzeneggerian'
anyway, i personally think what happened was not only inevitable, but spot on...

first, let me say that 'THAT' jacket is the reedition by cockpitusa of their 1988 original issue...so no need for people to even discuss any relation to ww2...

may i suggest a good 12-step program?
before 'paddy' steps in and closes down this thread because of what sounds like a nasty comment, let me be the first to admit that i have a bit of a probLem with the oLe jacket buying...i need, like, handcuffs to keep me from my computer...
taLes of the seLLer and buYer...
have to admit, both the buyer and seller's stories ring true...i think they might both got caught in the middle by a singular defective item from schott...
these things do happen...i would think that the buyer could invoke the schott warranty via the seller's...

hi, yes, i did post a few things about uswings...one of the responses suggested i had said enough, and so i kind of agree with that...
i will say this though, i did buy one of their non-milspec jackets and it was truLy generic city...enough...
i wrote this to member FISHMEOK, the impressive guy who has been building his own a-2s and sharing the pix and info with us on the forum...i wrote him this question and would also ask anyone who can add anything to answer me as well...i appreciate it:
hi, thought you were the guy to ask this...

Keep political statements out please :)
(couldn't resist...and that's not necessarily my point of view)

i'll say this, i don't like knocking anyone...especially someone with sgt. hack's background as a soldier, and building his business, uswings...yes, i read his cowritten bio that was included with one of my...

interesting stuff...as for there being no milspecs on the a-2 when it was reintroduced, officially in 1987 by act of Congress at the urging of military personnel, there were most, if not all, of the same specs as the ww2 a-2 originally had...throat hook, windflap, epaulets...

first off, let me say this hasn't been the first time i've been edited, having spent 12 years in journalism as a reporter and editor myself...however, from paddy's private message to me on another post, i'll admit that he was a lot more tactful than most of the editors i had...and...
YaH!
totally fantastic! i hope they hold onto that research as i will be coming to them to make one...hope their prices stay nicely below eastman...which brings up the question as to why...in your opinion...do they just opt not to charge those eLite prices...or is there a difference in the...
der JacKetmeisTer!
great ingenuity...just curious if you think the input you gave from your pix was enough to match or exceed eastman's reputed, and apparent from their photos, authenticity...and any sense authentic will keep the patterns/research around for future customer orders?
