Here are some shots of an Oreanna bash I did on an old OR a couple of years ago.
The front dents on DDL's hat appear to be a bit lower and there is no pencil roll on the OR brim.
Portolan, That Adam looks very good on you. You might try the crease a tad lower in front and the back. What shape is the crown in (center dent, c-crown, diamond)? You might want to modify this. I agree with turning the back brim up. Down it resembles an Irish walking hat, which isn't bad, but...
Catching up
Do I have to? :o :eusa_doh:
Ok, I did. :whistling :whistling
Yes she can. :D
hmmm...a Jewsih missionary (no such thing) wearing a habit (traditionally worn by a nun)? [huh]
Your friend appears to be faithfully challenged.
That, my friend, was a very mature decision...
Another banner day for the behatted!
Just_Me, The fedora is very nice as is the smile. Don't look now but a guy who looks like Jimmy Cagney is grinning over your shoulder. ;) :)
JTL, nice Stetson, cowboy. ;) :)
Metropod, That is a terrific picture. :)
IC, Nice coat. Looks unbearably...

It's self-explanatory from there...
Kromex?
Do I spy a set of Kromex spice jars, in the original rack, behind that wonderful clock/light? :)
We may need more kitchen pictures. Are thre any in the Show Us Your Vintage Home thread?

Folks, As discussions go this one has been downright civil. Differences of opinion discussed in this forum usually are. I appreciate the fact that HATCO is defending the Stetson product. We all learn something in the discussion. Others have stated that, in their...
A word of caution
Suggest being very cautious regarding the use of Lexol on the sweatband. GWD did that on one of his hats and it destroyed the sweatband. I don't remember the thread but you might want to pm him before using Lexol.

(I may be incorrect but) I have seen felts worked and pounced multiple times by a custom hatter until they have just the right finish and texture. This can be a very exacting and time consuming process. I do not believe the same number of steps are taken in working the felt on a production hat...
Exactly. The Campdraft is an affordable hat suitable for any occasion.
As observed by Mark, bolthead, etc. a fedora wasn't necessarily a dress hat in the past. Depending on materials, construction, etc., a fedora could be very exclusive.
But...fedoras were also everyday hats worn by men who...
Congratulations, Bolt! Hopefully this will be a great trip. Are you taking your spouse?
Are you taking shopping requests? :D
(I'm kidding....about the shopping requests.) ;) :)
Ya gotta love a good tractor!
gtdean48, That scar is similar to one I have. My surgeon was only marginally better with a needle and thread. :D
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap To your willingness to keep that OR on active duty!
Nice Town Hat, Rusty. A little too formal for me but nice...
I posted this Resistol previously:
But what I really want to take note of is a rare ebay seller who is also an excellent communicator and provides an extra measure of customer service. Here is their reply regarding the packaging and shipping of the hat. I asked them not to tape the original...
