BK, That's an interesting jacket.
If you were to keep and wear the jacket, I'd say make the repairs.
Since you intend to resell the garment, I'd leave it as is and let the buyer deal with it post-purchase.
However, you could offer to make the repairs, at the buyer's request, for a...
Man Up
Your hat should sit on your head where, in your opinion, it is most comfortable and looks the best.
Unless this results in problems with hearing, vision, breathing, or eating and drinking, it should be fine.
That's a very good question.
After perusing the bencrafthats website, I'm also curious regarding the lack of a niche for a Cervo (or other) hat brand between Borsalino and Stetson. I may be wrong but it appears to me that there is a $50-60 gap between their most expensive Stetson dress hat...
SNOW
dhermann1,
Those are lovely photos.
I can almost hear Bing, Danny, Rosemary, and Vera singing, "Snow, snow, snow, snow! It won't be long ...".
We're getting wintry blasts into the high 20's and low 30's but have only seen the white stuff once this season.
Thanks for...
Now this is interesting!
Just to expand the parameters of this discussion a bit. I have a 5X Clear Beaver that is in wonderful condition and, while supple, is not as supple as some other Stetsons in my collection. Can we get a comparison of the 5X CB, the 7X CB, and the Stetson 100?
(I won't...
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the theatre?
$46.00 on Ebay day before yesterday. I decided to post it here since the ebay thread is too busy with "me, Me, ME" posts for acknowledgement much less discussion.
What a Gift! :)
I especially appreciate these two images.
These are especially helpful when one has only a single piece from a vintage suit. I have a number of vintage or vintage-inspired jackets without the pants. Images like these help the sartorially-challenged (me) put an ensemble...
See what happens when you leave for a day.
More great lids on everyone! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Just_Me, Just lovely.
Gene, Terrific Whippet!
Rusty, The Harvester never ceases to be a beauty!
Feraud, Great collection. Can you tell us what they are?
Bart, Great lids and a...
Well Done
Funneman, Great Hat and it's great to see an on-Lounge trade work out so well. Now we need to see a picture of the stingy-brim you traded. ;) :)
I'd say that Art's explanation is spot on. A hat stored inverted in a box with no lid, for any appreciable length of time, would certainly exhibit these characteristics. The fact that you removed a lot of the color on the underbrim with an orange sponge and a brush supports this explanation.
Dman, This has come up in at least one other discussion. Is it your belief/understanding that a Stetson 100 was 100% beaver felt regardless of whether it was designated as "Clear Beaver" on the sweatband and crown?
Getting Blinkytosis
Well...it is sorta fun....but I want to freeze the smoke so I can see if it says 'Gibson Girl'. [huh]
Unfortunately, the eye is so da..ed distracting it makes me more blinky the longer I look at it. :(
I believe that thingy is actually an hallucinogen for the...
