Thanks. Or, rather, thanks to my daughter, the photographer. I'm never quite sure what she has in mind, but when she told me to go into my garage and stand in front of the only sliver of light coming through a tiny window, I obeyed.
It's a Toyota MR3. Sort of a low-end sports car, but it's loud and fun and has a five-speed manual transmission. Kind of like driving a go cart on the freeway.
My son, who recently got married, came by today with his new car. He let the old folks take it for a spin. I figured it would look good with my NW hat.
How does a guy get married and then buy a car like that?
Thanks for all the nice comments yesterday. We're back to normal July weather now, so I brought out the Akubra Balmoral.

Ha! Sugar House IS a snobby area! Actually, it's a nice walkable neighborhood with good shopping and restaurants and a nice trolley system connecting it to everything else. One of my favorite parts of the city, truthfully.
We're in the 90s here right now, but a cold front will move our highs...
Back from vacation and wearing a Cuenca. Always end a vacation on a Friday. That way, you work one day and bam! It's the weekend!

In front of a real Stratoliner today at the Smithsonian at Dulles. (This has become an annual pilgrimage for me.) Unfortunately, I didn't bring my Stratoliner. An Akubra will have to do.

This comment made my day! Zardoz -- Sean Connery's finest hour (nearly two hours, actually) - in a red diaper thingy, no less. A movie no one should be made to watch sober.
Awesome hat, Jim. I need one like that!
Not much variety here these days. I'm in the Akubra Capricorn again, trying to survive temps near 100.
