This one is [probably] a turn-of-the-century Italian straw. I found the body at a yard sale along with a letter, dated 1903, in the hat. The lady I bought it from bought it at a flea market in San Francisco in the 70's. I paid $1.00 for it. I kept the body and eventually had Jimmy Pierce block... -

What are your favorite mystery or espionage novels?
I read Trevanian's "Shibumi" when I was much younger and the descriptions of the protagonist's water garden stuck with me. Many years later, I purchased a 1st edition. UWSC'boy, I want your hat! Nice lid. Torpedo, Your Penman is just a terrific hat. Bolthead, That's a nice Whippet but it looks a tad small to me. Douglas, That's a nice Mallory. I like that ribbon. Is it a deep burgundy/wine color? I chnged to an Akubra Cattleman received from Cookie today.
