Vintage Hats from 1920's - 40's Ireland Question

I think newsboy caps were more late 1800s and early 20th century on the British isles and Europe, as far as i know flat caps become the norm in the 1910's. There is a style of flat cap called ''bond'' caps what are produced now and existed in the the thirties what very much resemble early to mid...

    The Cap Faction

Happens all the time with older stitched caps, that's why i prefer ones with snap brims, it's very easy to fix though, just do some small stitches in the very middle a few times if you get what i mean. From what i understand, the snap button was so you could have the cap sagging to the left or...

Also bought...

Had no probs stretching a cap 2-3 centimetres if they are made of natural fibres, i don't use a hat stretcher i just shove them on my head then pull at the sides until they fit comfortably. I don't like it when caps fit super low down on the ears i like them to fit somewhat snug

Quite amazing how much wool can stretch, the twenties cap fits perfect now and i repaired the liner, still got plenty of life in it, i think the previous owner would want me to wear it not for it to be a dust gatherer.

Belonged to the sellers grandfather in the twenties from what she told me, its got the same three piece construction as the modern ''bond'' caps you find on country clothing websites over her, a very British cut.
