How serious is this knick on my new leather jacket?

So i got a lambskin jacket from schott and really love it, but noticed a small papercut like mark on the upper left chest. I know eventual marks on a jacket like this area probably unavoidable but I wondered how objectively problematic this is, since I wasn't thrilled by the idea of having to send it back for exchange only to be denied.

I've owned leather items for sone years and never seen anything like this, so some input would be appreciated.

Im not sure if the pictures fully convey it, but there is a skin break in the leather although it's small. Which is why I compared it to a papercut.

Looks like a cut in the leather- if it's an easy exchange e.g. you live near the store, I would. However, if it requires any sort of shipping etc. I would personally just forget about it

This can be called a scratch on the jacket. If it is not possible to replace the jacket, wear it and forget about this scratch.

As has already been said unless the scratch was on the jacket at the time of purchase (and this can be proved without too much hassle) and it’s easy to return for a replacement I’d keep it.
As you’ve noted getting marks, scuffs, scratches, nicks, etc. are a given and something which needs to be accepted if you wear a leather jacket.
Now that you have your first you can relax and it’ll make the next and the next and the next that much easier to accept.

I would personally just live with it myself, although that is part of the equation with a softer leather such as lambskin.

If you paid full retail price, it's worth maybe taking it back (especially if bought in person).

Have you owned lambskin jackets prior?
