I read that he was shot but a terribly thick manuscript (I think it was a copy of the speech he was giving but I'm not sure) he had stored in his suit jacket ended up saving his life. Was he shot more than once during the assassination attempt?

We've had all three. I personally have enjoyed Dish Network the most. The most channels available and we were able to service more rooms in the house versus DirecTV. I also don't know if DirecTV has DVR or not, but Dish decidedly does provided you pay a little bit more. The only drawback, in...
I have to say, that is such a wonderful set-up. The price is a little heady and makes me damn glad I'm not a man. But, it's nice to see others dreaming of the day when one could find suits like that regularly, even on children:
Martin Luther King Jr's two sons and nephew (Martin III at...
I agree. My parents' generation isn't very willing to hold on to anything. My great-aunt had a suitcase chock full of photographs and I haven't seen them as the only time I could have my mother forbid me (although I agree it was bad timing.)
A very jealous congratulations,

The one I bought is by Marc Eliot and it is really pretty darn good. But be prepared, he led quite an interesting private life but it doesn't make me love him any less. I'm just now getting to the part about his work with Hitchcock, it should be quite insightful.

*gasp*
I'm still getting over the fact that they put out such silly promotional material. Those paper dolls are wonderful, and as always, so is Mr. Grant. I'm currently reading his biography and apparently everyone has some affinity for the older Cary Grant. Personally, I prefer his...
I have allergies and asthma and it has not been a very pleasant experience waking up with a packed throat each and every morning for the past two months.

I was perusing Yahoo! Image Search for pictures of FDR when I stumbled upon these at Webshots. All I know about them is that they're interior shots of homes in West Virginia that have been preserved. As far as I'm concerned, it just makes the past that much more alive...
If I drank I would definitely go for a Mint Julep (to open the Kentucky Derby of course) or a Highball. Non-alcoholic beverages don't seem that appealing in the light of my twenty-first birthday (still about eleven months away) and a perfect summer season to get to know them a little better...
I disagree only because as a (now ex-member as of March) former teenager, I was in elementary school during the early nineties (before cell phones hit big) and remembering learning and eventually mastering the face clock. I did prefer digital because it was easier to wrap my eight-year-old head...
I guess something that I'm wondering, as someone who plans to become a housewife is, does the back and forth of a two-career household affect your personal life at all? As the article stated there seems to be a great deal of marriages that aren't satisfied and/or are too tired to have relations...
Hm. We've had different experiences. I attended the ALIEF district schools in Texas during the early to late nineties and received some of the best education of my life outside of the exclusive and private sectors. I went to Michael Kennedy elementary (where I had problems in math due to my...
