Vintage Size 6.5-7 Red Cross Lucite Slingbacks

These are in great shape and very purty! Way too small for me. Asking $30, which is what I paid for them. They come in the original box!

    Nutrition and exercise!

I'm a semi-vegetarian: I'll eat fish and shellfish but no red meat or poultry. This is not because I don't like those things, I love them, but I have a very strict "don't eat anything you wouldn't personally kill" policy. I'll go fishing. I won't kill a baby cow. I think it makes sense! I...

Oh my gosh, was it? I never even made the connection!

    Nutrition and exercise!

Not "diet" and exercise because dieting brings unpleasant things to mind - but - do you ladies watch what you eat and exercise at least three times a week to keep your figures? Or does running around after your kids keep you in shape? Share!

    Bad Book - Better Movie?

It really riles me how many people think the DaVinci code is "amazing" or "makes you think". It's just a screenplay people, it's eye-candy on paper, which does not a good book make. Plus it's a lot easier to suspend disbelief for a film than for a book.

What do you wear to do aerials?

There are pettipants all over ebay - very cheap! Lots of items like this can be found if you search for "square dance".

Time for another "what book are you reading?" thread...

I read "The Lovely Bones" as well. It was ok, but forgettable. In the same category as "My Sister's Keeper".

    Vintage Shoe info

My feet are way too big to find platforms for under a million dollars - 9.5! I try to be satisfied with repro but I am NOT!

    Martini Protocol

I was going to mention Hendrick's - it is very good and a good "starter" gin for those who don't love gin since it's very flavorful of not-just-juniper-berry. I drank vodka martinis for a long time - ketel one, dry, extra olives - but eventually the vodka started tasting like water and going...

    Not Retro, Just Raining!

The British chick on my NPR station keeps saying "This is English weatha". I'm seeing partly cloudy tomorrow and then rain through till next Wednesday. That's what, 2 weeks straight?

That's funny, I loved the English Patient and HATED the movie.

Vintage/Retro themed bars, clubs, hotels? Share pictures and reviews!

Oh my gosh! It was completely silly of me not to mention Lucky's here in Boston, which is one of my favorite haunts. Well known for their "Sinatra Sundays". Unfortunately the crowd can be slightly cheesy so it's much better to go there when it's likely to be dead or when their fabulous jazz...

The Maritime Hotel in New York City: insanely, unforgivably expensive for a room BUT certainly worth a visit for cocktail-drinking purposes. <img...

I just finished the incredible and eye-opening Flyboys: A True Story of Courage A very interesting look at the Pacific front of WWII and not for the faint of heart. I also wish to plug Paul...

    Good Fashion News~

I was in Ann Taylor Loft recently and they had a great pair of high waist (natural waist!) trousers with a nice wide leg. Unfortunately they fit me very strangely. I have a small waist proportionately to my hips (28-40), so it's very hard to get pants that don't gap at the waist when they fit...

    Ha! You read my mind!

Inspiration on cute office outfits please :-)

I think it's much better to wear real vintage than repro at work simply because it's MUCH cheaper! I can spend $60 and get a fabulous 40's dress or I can spend $95 and get something by Stop Staring that everyone else has.

    "Anti-Aging" Treatments?

I checked at CVS and they don't have it there, just the plastic case version. :( I will keep an eye out.

Inspiration on cute office outfits please :-)

Actually I prefer open bottom girdles at work, especially with seamed stockings...for ease of...ahem...using the ladies' room!

    "Anti-Aging" Treatments?

Oh my god - I can't imagine what putting Shea Butter on my face would do to it! Hello acne and greasiness! But I think I will have to pick up some Pond's cold cream. I use the full Murad product line and I like it but it's rather expensive. And tell me, where does one order the "German"...
