Yeah, I think that's just laziness on their part. They're required to ask so they buzz right by as soon as you've taken your first or second bite, get it out of the way and then *bam* they're gone.
In my experience, after the first question, you're lucky to get your water refilled.
I still knock on wood and I also try not to jinx myself by saying something negative (which is usually what causes me to knock on wood).
Sometimes, for fun, I'll throw salt over my shoulder, although I don't quite believe in it.
Yeah, I know what you mean in cutting corners. Honestly, in today's society, service is 50% of what determines my desire to return to a restaurant. They may have great food and great ambience, but I've totally stopped going to about three nice restaurants in town because they had consistently...

My feelings exactly! That's why I don't exactly fit in to all these discussions. I'm not really into the Golden Era, per se, and I don't make it a point to buy vintage unless it's affordable and available.
I just live my life as always and occasionally others brand me as...
I suppose you can sum this all up with "you get what you pay for".
That and prepare for this in the future when we start buying even more from overseas. If it's cheaper, capatilism recommends cutting costs! [huh]
I hate to sound like Devil's Advocate here, but don't you suppose the same things could have been said about alchemists trying to understand chemical reaction? "Why don't those idiots stop trying to turn lead into gold and start trying to cure the plague!"
Due to advances in chemistry, we can...
I work four days a week, and of those four days I go to a gym three. So I would say my After Work Ritual is getting off work, hitting the local YMCA, working out for about 2.5hours, going home, turning on the computer, making dinner (usually just a ham sandwich, maybe I'm lucky to have a pizza)...
Yeah, as far as I recall, there was a theatrical place in Ames that sold a few wool caps, no fedoras. There may be a few boutique shops now but while Starius and I were stuck in Ames, there wasn't much else to choose from that I can remember. I'm not familiar with the area as much anymore, so...
I totally agree here! :eusa_clap
Bring the quality back and the gents will slowly file in.
I believe HatCo is in an excellent position to market this as well. What older gentleman, or younger gentleman, wouldn't like to own a Stetson fedora that he could one day pass down to his grandson...
Welcome and thanks for joining! It's nice to have your company interacting with us.
I'm sure you'll feel free to explore other areas of the board and it's highly recommended! There are some excellent pictures to view, great notes on classic style and I'm sure you'll even find some tips you...
And it's this sloppy mindset that brings forth images of snot-nosed brats darting between their sweatpants-and-sneakers-wearing parents filing into the funeral/wedding/misc event, fitting right in with every other disrespectful, no class bum.
Here are some true gems from a woman that...
I'm sure I've said it before and I will definitely say it again...
I wish I could get shirts at Target/Walmart/Kmart! I'm a 17x37. I can fit in 36's and sometimes look fine in 17.5's. That's four sizes I could purchase but not one is sold. Oh, you'll find 17x35 or 17.5x34, but never my sizes...
Well I personally think this guy was just trying to impress his editors, write some crappy expose, make some waves, etc. He's really making a mountain of a mole hill, and he does poorly at that.
