Ok, so with AG's suggestion in mind, my goal for 09/03 will be to send 3 query letters to 3 unsuspecting agents lol , and to complete chapter 2 of my little detective novel. Anyone else taking the challenge? ;)
After rereading the article, I'm not sure there is anything "inaccurate" or "sensational", so much as there is a little conjecture slipped in.
For instance, I don't think Nirvana is considered Classic Rock to anyone, anywhere. It hasn't even been 20 years since the band disolved. However, for...
Darnit! Do you know if these are available at Barnes&Noble? That's the only place I know of, locally, that actually sells magazines.
Perhaps someone from the lounge could contact one of those magazines to see if Twitch had an email address?
You know, I think I picked it up out of habit from Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies. Bugs, Daffy and the gang seem to use those all the time.
My grandmother once heard me say, "Hey kid, how are you?" to a woman checking us out at the grocery store and she laughed, "I haven't heard someone say...

They hold strange hours: only open on Saturdays from 9am-5pm, or by appointment.
I do not believe they are affiliated with the Lounge or...
I think this would be acceptable, especially if you're going for that casually well dressed look. It appears that the collar has no choice but to spread out over the lapels, but I realize that in some cases people pull the collar out on purpose.
Unless this is some kind of trick...
I'm fine with that. In fact, my recent participation in this thread has resulted in a much more focused effort to get moving. In fact, I've already laid out an outline (with most characters profiled) for a detective novel, and I'm currently in the middle of chapter 2. ;)
Oh, I don't know. Although I think top hats are strictly white tie anymore, the right guy could pull off a beaver felt top hat wth a tuxedo. Aren't Masons in this habit? At least I thought I'd read that somewhere on the Lounge.
I think a substantial bow tie (within reason of course:rolleyes: ) would suit most peoples' sensibilities, as opposed to those peckish little polkadot ones, or Pee Wee Herman ones.
Then again, I think most people look at bow ties like they see ascots. "What, you're not wearing a tie? Gawd!"
lol
That's typically what I find, too. A few sheets lying on my coffee table (much to the annoyance of the little lady). When I finally review them, their notes for a novel I haven't touched in months, as well as various phone numbers, appointments and ideas for other novels.
Oh, I keep the...
I didn't see mention of it in here, but has anyone played the Sam & Max games?
I've been playing those on computer since Sam & Max Hit the Road. I loved their recent rebirth in Season 1, and I've just recently started Season 2.
For anyone unfamiliar with the series, Sam is a noir-style...
I often call women 'kid' as a term of endearment. And on the other hand, I may call a woman 'sister' to express disatisfaction.
"Hey kid, how's things been?"
"Excuse me?! Kid? Get a life, fella!"
"Look sister, I don't know what your problem is, but I don't want any part of it!"
We have a number of these throughout small towns in Iowa. Although I have still not had a chance to lay eyes on one, my grandfather and another middle-aged fellow have told me where to look. Evidently, the houses were placed there in respect to certain mining outfits, as well as (I believe)...
