Although I'm a rube in these matters, it certainly appears so. I've always appreciated the finer details of a suit or accessory that makes wearing the article a pleasure. If I find anything out of ordinary, I'll be sure to post pictures as well.
This is one reason I've strayed from eBay. I prefer to purchase things in person - and if it must be online, I like to deal with a company as opposed to a person.
Ebay is a strange place that can have plenty of great finds, but also some real stinkers. Good luck and do let us know the outcome.
We did have one in Des Moines named Shorty's. It was more or less a gimmick.
Shorty's is a small bar whose door sits on the back of a building. Originally, there weren't any signs or indications as to how one should enter; you needed to know someone that had been there in order to get in...
Let me clarify -
Was the absinthe green in the bottle? Or green after applying the slotted-spoon and sugar trick?
From what I understand, one of the reasons absinthe was originally banned was the use of foreign (often poisonous) chemicals to turn the liquor green synthetically. As such...
I've always said Americans just need one tiny excuse to start drinking and partying.
We have an "Oktoberfest" party in Des Moines, but it's held in September, and it's just people getting drunk (much the same for any given holiday, sports event, etc).
I personally partake in...
First, you'll note it's pronounced Naff-Ta (or at least that's how it was explained to me). I pronounced it Nap-Tha at first and was promptly corrected by a friend who pilots in the Air Force (apparently before he started flying jets, he was a mechanic and naphtha was what they used to clean...
This is exactly why Inglorious Basterds was the only Tarantino film I've fully enjoyed on the same level as actual films.
(Don't get me wrong, Pulp Fiction had its moments, but I still place it on par with comedies and hack ups.)
Precisely why I believe this is a confusing topic to begin with. I understood gorge to be throat, too, until reading about this topic through threads on the lounge.
Hey, at least this might get me some drinks at a bar (although, it would likely be challenging to find anyone willing to bet...
Last Glass
“Two please,” I said with a hint of nostalgia. I had rehearsed this moment in my mind so many times that it finally felt like I was a character in the screen production. I looked back at our table; he was watching me, eager, a grin had cracked over his lips. His eyes hadn’t lost...
Exactly, which is why I think "Inclusion" is a better word than "tolerance", and even then, trying to put a word to the concept is still tough.
Everyone knows a guy makes makes racist jokes, followed by, "Yeah, but I have [x] friends, so it's cool."
What's so sad about that is how...
Very good point! I pictured a waiter trying to pour down the side of a glass (probably spilling everywhere) and I wondered how this would help anyone. [huh]
The Break
He drew the swatch to his face, closed his eyes and inhaled. The faint smell of lilacs and sweat had once permeated the lemon yellow fabric. A warm summer breeze brushed his skin, playfully gamboling through town, past the hardware store, the café, the cinema. His hands enveloped...
I don't want to step on any toes, but your story is so unfortunate.
I know if a person has principles they should stand up for those beliefs, defend them if necessary and they shouldn't allow social change to sway them unreasonably.
On the other hand, although tolerance and diversity are...
Very true.
Imagine, however, if a filmmaker chose to use B&W now in order to achieve a certain ambience*. He would walk a razor's edge between complete derision and masterpiece. Quite unfortunate considering how well B&W can play in a film.
(*not to say modern movies don't use B&W)
