Ah! I think that would be a sharp combo. BTW, I really like that tie. Okay, I give in - I've reconsidered mix-matching with pinstripe. I'll have to give it a shot some time.
First of all, great pics! Isn't almost bizarre to see how much crap comes out of the felt once you've cleaned it?
Great idea with that Shout formula; I think I'll give that a try on some of my vintage Stetson liners as well. I tried the white vinegar approach, which worked, but the...
I think that looks reasonable. I like the tie as well! Nice show!
What shoes did you wear with that? (or since it was a test, what shoes would you have worn?)
I recently found out my local library offers free bridge lessons as well as a bridge club. I'm wondering, if any of you are interested in bridge, you might check out your local library or community centers for bridge clubs.
My dad and I haven't made it to Bridge yet, although we've talked about it.
We play Gin Rummy (or some bastardized version) and Cribbage every Sunday from the afternoon into the night.
That looks like something you'd see on the internet with the word "FAIL" underneath.
My dad told me how this happened now and again when he was in basic. I've also seen it happen with weightlifters using a leg press.
I believe you should be able to wear suspenders on anything, if you chose (hey, even Bruno wore them on his shorts :p )
You'll need to make sure the pants fit to begin with. Then ensure your suspenders aren't too tight. Also, consider whether you need suspenders at all. Think of it like a...
I most certainly stand corrected.
I have never had the opportunity to drink, or inspect, Absinthe, and during my brief life as a wine&spirits distributor, I was educated in many things - but least of all Absinthe (we don't get it here in IA, nor do we have the opportunity, thus no reason to...
From what I gather, an overcoat serves a utilitarian purpose as opposed to a suit - not that suits don't serve their own purposes in their own ways.
I believe one should use all buttons on a coat as long as practical, just as one should doff one's hat indoors, or remove sunglasses at night...
Yes it does, and I found it pretty informative. It actually changed my perspective on the practice (although I'm still hesitant). This topic doesn't come up often for me because I am a stickler about pairing things together, but I think a pinstripe jacket with white or grey pants could work well...
It appears this question has been addressed elsewhere:
How to Match the odd Pinstripe Jacket with Pants
How to Dress in a Conservative Work Environment (#3)
And also here at the Lounge:
What pants to wear with an odd navy pinstripe jacket?
Personally, I don't do this.
There aren't hard and fast rules on anything, but I think trying to match a pinstripe JACKET to trousers is quite difficult, if not entirely impossible. Keep in mind, I'm not saying you can't match a pattern to a plain (see tweeds and trousers).
Now, to match...
I've always been a Sherlock Holmes fan, and I read and reread Sir A.C. Doyle's work often.
I'm looking forward to Sherlock 2. I was quite disappointed by the first trailer released as it appeared they were taking Sherlock and turning him into some kind of superhero-Americanized-basterdized...
