I used to drink Diet Pepsi when I lived on the West Coast. Since moving to the East Coast, I've discovered that Coke is superior, and I used to drink one or two cans a day.
I've since switched to straight soda water and like it much better. I crash less without the caffeine, and the bubbles...
I haven't switched to making certain things from scratch because of the economy, but there are a certain number of things I've always made from scratch, in part to avoid keeping mixes around that are single or limited use items, in part because it's cheaper, in part because of taste, and mostly...
I've seen them around but I've never used one. To me, they seem like they're more of a tool for 60s styles and beehives than pomps, though I'd like to see it done!
Keep looking! I found one in a local shop for $15, complete with all the original cosmetics!
The problem I have with most traditional style train cases is that they don't have enough sections and compartments to really keep my makeup properly organized.
No, those are CHEAP vintage prices. Most basic dresses I've seen on both the East and West coasts (MA and WA, specifically) start at around $45 or $50. $30 is cheap.
You mix it with rubbing alcohol to make a very thick paste, and then you press it into the compact. The alcohol will evaporate, leaving you with a pressed powder. However, I've found that pressed powder made this way is more likely to break.

Lovely silk and orlon blouse with buttons up the back. The real color is somewhere in between what's shown in the photos. Whopping $12!

I have one like Inky's, purchased very inexpensively at Target. I have too much stuff in it to be able to hold, but it works. I keep a mug inside to hold my eyeliner pencils, as they're easier to access that way. Next to the case I have a little clear plastic organizer, also purchased in the...
This is the clothesline in my backyard. The thing is immense. As you can see, it takes up almost the entire back yard. The metal bars have 12 eye screws across each side, so you can have a total of 12 lines across. I only use 8 - the others are under trees and I don't want the guck and pollen on...
Thanks, Miss Neecerie. I did do a search but didn't pull anything up. Might make sense to combine threads.
I was mostly just wondering if anyone here had had any success with bartering.
Heard this on NPR this morning and was reminded that bartering was popular during the Great Depression. I thought many of you might find it interesting, and also was wondering if anyone here barters or swaps goods and services, uses the Craigslist barter section, etc?
