12 things to do before your 12

I believe Airfix models will likely return in some form, the tooling is far too valuable to just scrap. ($150,000.00 to $250,000.00+ to cut molds) Some of the problems with Airfix were due to mergers with other companies as well as changing tastes in childhood entertainment. I'm glad I...

    The Musicians Take The Cake

I always got a kick out of Rudy Vallee having Harry "The Hipster" Gibson on his later 40's radio show, talk about an unusual pairing.

    An Interesting Sighting

The little prefab cheesteak place went out of business. (The were loading up the contents went I drove by) My Mom & Dad (Plus all my family) are from Philly and the surrounding townships, I've had more hoagies & cheesteaks up there, than I can count.;) There are a couple of places...

    An Interesting Sighting

There are two of them here, the first is way out on the far west side and is a nice jazz place, this one I don't believe this spot is quite open yet. I'm guessing it's an inner-loop version of the west side club. When it's open I'll stop by.

    Help!: Zeppelins, Dirigibles, Airships, etc.

Not really, they've survived this long as they are. If I really feel the need to do a model of these Zeppelins, I'd do them in plastic. it's a better medium. Some years back Testors reissued the the old Hawk kit of the Graf Zeppelin. (Also as the Los Angeles) Now that Testors has sold all the...

    Help!: Zeppelins, Dirigibles, Airships, etc.

Here are a couple of unbuilt Pre-W.W. II "stick & tissue" model kits of the Los Angeles, & ZMC-2 Zepp's, from my collection of ancient model kits. These were made by C.& S. Models of Trenton N.J.

Just ask the Shenandoah, Akron, & Macon Dirigibles. An interesting Dirigible to read up on: Google the ZMC-2, the only metal clad Dirigible to fly.
