Ian - what can you wear a Levi's 506XX with? A pair of dress slacks or kahkis? Would look funny to me to wear it with anything but a pair of jeans. I think that chore jackets look better with work pants sometimes, but not always. If it's a classic cut in raw/properly broken in denim it looks...
Interesting, but they left out a ton of info.....guess it's for a beginner. Also, their advice on not wearing a denim jacket with denim pants is total BS.
Definitely agree with flat-top. Not worth $150 in this market and the fabric is not as good as the 50's stuff. You can also see that the collar looks a little small to be original also.
Not true, I posted the following in response to GHQ1's original post:
"I've got the USN Chambray and it's pretty good...feels like it'll stand up to some wear and tear. Also have the USN denim deck jacket with the shawl collar...very nice!"
I would guess that John Travolta's hair came from a ton of hairspray and an army of on set hair stylists. His hair appears to be shorter on the top than on the sides. Royal Crown is pretty thin and I have no experience with SGB in the purple tin. You might try Layrite, but that can be pricey...
Looks like J. Crew will be coming out with some more vintage workwear style/influenced clothing next spring. Check it out here:

I've been getting my hair cut by the same person for 12 years now. I look for someone who is friendly, remembers your name and is willing to work with you. A lot of barbers seem to be lazy and only want to give one or two haircuts. I've over the years experienced a great haircut around the...
Everyday people that were well off maybe. When my great-grandad came home from the coal mine he ate, took his clothes off, bathed and went to bed. Not much time for socializing after working a 14 hour day. He had one suit and one dress shirt that he wore on Sunday.
The whole point of repro...
I'm willing to pay a lot for stuff, but not overpay. Especially for stuff that's made with a fairly low cost (i.e. RRL). The hand made quality stuff from Japan is great, but some of it is still overpriced too.
Hmmm, not sure I can agree with you on the point of really using this stuff for work. Most newer work wear looks like dire shit and you wouldn't want to wear it for anything but work to begin with. I don't see anyone on here running out to buy used Cintas uniforms!!!
I understand the...
Honestly, I have no idea...bet you're right about Kohl's. Maybe this is their forray back into higher end department stores? I personally think that the Officer's Chinos made by J. Crew are probably the best for the price. I've never been overly impressed with the quality of Docker's myself...
