    Just got this vintage (60's?) B. Altman coat on freecycle. She said it was faux fur but I think it may be actual shearling. Is there a way to tell for sure? It does not feel synthetic to me.

    I wonder what the gas mileage is. ;) One of the great things about living in California (which I do not, but I used to) is that the undercarriage of old cars doesn't rot out due to salt and sand from snow. Another perk of living in a warm climate--driving actual vintage cars.
