    Girdles, Corsets, and Underpinnings

Oh yes, it happens! That's the reason I don't like boy shorts, either. There's a ridge across the bum! I should say though, I don't tend to wear low-rise thongs unless I'm wearing low-rise clothing, which is rare. I find that the sides of a thong can easily be adjusted up or down depending...

    Girdles, Corsets, and Underpinnings

I actually have thongs that go to the waist, and I often wear those with high waisted skirts and dresses. All the high waisted panties I've worn have leg elastic that tends to rub the tops off my thighs if worn long enough.

    Girdles, Corsets, and Underpinnings

They do bother some people. Me, I can't feel them at all.

    Girdles, Corsets, and Underpinnings

I tend to wear thongs under my girdles, even though that's not period correct. Period correct was wearing the granny panties over the girdle, or tap pants. I don't like to wear high waisted panties unless I have good reason to, and so far I haven't found many! lol

    Sweetheart Items

That's quite a collection! Do any have rhinestones? I'm a sucker for militaria with rhinestones, it's such a weird combination!

    Vintage Prom attire

Well, I would scour ebay, but for a dress like that it might be expensive. There are some seamstresses on here, you might ask around how complicated it is and how much you would expect to pay to have something made. Oh, and where are you in the USA? These are the dresses, right? What type...

Can you help me date this item??

Actually, polyester started being used for clothing in the 50's.

Can you help me date this item??

Well, that was part of it. But it feels real to me, and I have a pretty good ability to tell the difference. Is there a way to be sure? And yes it's VERY warm, I wore it today and was snuggly warm in the snow.

Thirdly, how'd the pee get there in the first place? Was he drunk? Too far from a loo? lol

Okkervil River Department of Eagles The Hold Steady and Andrew Bird, as usual. lol

Can you help me date this item??

You'll definitely get used to it. Metal zippers are a big indicator (roughly, zip placement on the side of a dress indicates 40's and on the back indicates 50's). If there is a fabric content tag with cleaning instructions, it's also more than likely modern. And if there's no union tag, more...

What is Your Favorite Classic Portrait?

I always loved this portrait of Coco Chanel.

Can you help me date this item??

This is a B. Altman coat that appears to be shearling (I was told it was faux but it does not seem to be, which is distressing as I'm trying to eradicate fur from my wardrobe). I can take a pic of the label if need be. The label says only "B. Altman Co." then there is a smaller tag that says...

Can you help me date this item??

I have no idea! Do you have a photo of the back? The closure can help date brooches. Also, supercute.
