    Ladies with cigarettes

I'd give a little to be able to accurately make that statement. ;)

    Ladies with cigarettes

Italian. French. Whatever. All those European countries are more or less the same. ;) I'm kidding of course, it was a mental slip.

    Ladies with cigarettes

Or it might be an older picture. She is a genuinely beautiful and sensuous woman. The epitome of "Frenchwoman" to my mind... but without the body hair. :p

WWII: What was the big deal?

British planning documents for a "what if" continuation versus the Russians. Interesting in that it was very secret and didn't include even their entire War Department. I fact, it contains numerous references to "assuming the US forces do this..." until the end. The planners were also in...

WWII: What was the big deal?

I remember reading a few years back about the horrific conditions in Allied POW camps post-war on the Continent. Can't remember the title, but it was quite an indictment. It was referring to camps run, mostly by the French, that recalled Andersonville. I also believe there was some...

WWII: What was the big deal?

Sent you a PM with my email. I'd be really interested to hear it. The morale and reversal of propaganda issues were just raised to me recently.

Actor Heath Ledger Is Found Dead

I agree it was probably an accident. In your above statement lies a problem though. Doctors only know what they have prescribed for you. If you have been, say, traveling and go to a different doctor and you neglect to tell them what else you are on, then you can't blame them for adverse...

WWII: What was the big deal?

That's neither just nor particularly accurate. What would you have had the US and Britain do? Inform troops (and a homefront) that for 4+ years had been told the Sovs were their ally and the war would be over when Germany was defeated that, so sorry boys, can't go home, we have to now...

WWII: What was the big deal?

Yes, there were several POW camps on the mainland US, one near Neosho, MO. I patrolled through the remnants of it buildings in NCO school.

There's something RIGHT in the state of Denmark

I think it's important to iterate that the "not letting go into real harm" trope isn't new. Napoleon IV died in Zululand and almost crippled the careers of Chelmsford and other senior officers as he wasn't supposed to be placed in danger... and he wasn't even technically a "Royal" any more...

There's something RIGHT in the state of Denmark

I think once the country decides to go to war, the royals are on the hook to some degree. I'd agree the way to avoid anyone having to go to war is to pick the wars better. But that heads straight into politics. ;)

There's something RIGHT in the state of Denmark

Having given this at least 30 seconds thought, I'd say "no". :D The Monarchy reigns (this is within the internal but still valid mythology of monarchy of course) by a right not originally "granted by the people" but rather by some higher power, therefore with that right come particular...
