Yep, and that's the frustrating thing: vintage women's shoes in this style aren't difficult to find, but men's in my size seem impossible. Maybe because male golfers tore up, wore out and threw out their shoes ... and female golfers didn't?

Blame the Santa Monica mountains. A "hermit" calling himself Kit Carson's son died in his shack there in 1902. (The culprit: a spider bite.)
Then, in 1912, this happened:
“Peter Cassidy lives on raw vegetables, dons his long hair in a Psyche knot, affects but little clothing and no...

Art Fawcett once said that Cheney's bird lines ("Game Birds", "Tropical Bird Plumage", etc.) were from the very beginning (the later 1930s?) an astonishing success, and other tie companies scrambled to follow suit.
Yep! Same problem here. Lots of vintage 1960s (and contemporary) shoes to be had with a split toe, a longwing, and/or a plain back. None in my size seem to have a one-piece toe and a capped back. Arrrggghh!
Seriously: this shoe is perfect for plus-fours. It's clean and simple: neither...
Good question. No, it doesn't need to have cleats ... but all the other details must be there. The piecework, dimensions, shape and overall silhouette must be just about identical.
Don't know. Flat caps were the caps of men who did manual work and/or did things in the countryside: shooting, hiking, golfing, driving, etc. Flat caps weren't meant to be worn while engaged in white-collar work.

Thank you very much for offering, but I must say no. Incidentally...
Several years ago, the (now-closed) "Aardvark's Odd Ark" vintage clothing store on Melrose Ave. had a green and orange flecked tweed sportcoat that had all the unique details of an Oviatt one -- except that it had another...

:eusa_clap That's a great one, Alan! The colors are fantastic, too.
And it's a safe bet that you didn't pay this price: www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-40s-50s-Roll-It-Newsboy-Cap-7-Hat-/220935481563
1: Size 6 1/2 E.
2: Nope. Not close to my size, and the opening price was very high. www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Florsheim-Spectator-Commander-Suede-Lace-Mens-Shoes-6-1-2-E-1930s-NIB-/370579156946
It was a lot of b.s., that's for sure.
Nonetheless, the kids with power could wear whatever they wanted: power gave them carte blanche. At the age of 11, I learned this lesson when I was literally beaten up for wearing a purple polo shirt to school. "But," I protested, "David Payne [a...
