Here’s the story.
In 1916, just four years after opening his Los Angeles haberdashery, Alexander & Oviatt, James Oviatt designed (or so he claimed) a jacket model called the “San Gabriel”. It quickly became very popular among Hollywood’s early movie stars, among them Douglas...

How on earth can it be that no one around here has posted this yet:

It's from Oviatt's, for Pete's sake! Almost certainly a Knox model designed especially by James Oviatt for his...
To my eye at least, the vamp's oval is too narrow for my taste (and I'd have to dye them brown as well). I prefer the Polo ones' vamp because it seems (to me) more circular than oval.

Joe's not a rich guy, but he has a keen eye and has striven to...

The Fedora Lounge has its small but hardy share of 'vintage menswear gods'. (You know who you are!) But here's a 'god' who is not an active Lounger at all: Joe McGlynn. Joe lives in NYC with his vintage ladies' wear goddess (and wife), Heidi Rosenau. Take a look at what makes him...

Yeah, well ... what the film doesn't show is all the other kids who answered the questions correctly. Nearly all of them were edited out ... because they would have spoiled the flick's "shock factor".
