I like Dryer's light vanilla ice cream, a cone of soft serve, frozen yogurt, or fruit flavored gelato or sorbet (not quite ice cream, but a relative). I'm not a huge fan of regular ice cream because when I was little it would sometimes make me sick.
For me it's all about paper things - especially magazines. My magazine collection is slowly growing, and when I find new ones I can't resist buying *at least* one. I've been trying to reign in my magazine obsession by only buying magazines from the 1930s (plus or minus 5 years). So far so...
It would take an *awful* lot of makeup and camera angles :p , but I think I could do Rosalind Russell. My goofy side could take on Joan Blondell. My more serious side would perhaps go for Bette Davis despite the fact I'm not a huge fan of her (what fun to give Errol Flynn a slap, even though I...
This cat adopted the house I lived in and everyone in it. She was technically the neighbor across the street's, but she pretty much lived at my house. Months ago I gave her a ridiculous name that I can't even remember now, but it never caught on and she was just known as "the cat." She's an...
Both of those buildings are very cool looking and the decorations are great!
Marquise - is that a poster of a Caillebotte painting in your bedroom? I love his painting of a Paris street on a rainy day.
I don't have any exciting stories, I'm usually just Mal (short for Mallory). My parents will occasionally call me Mouse and sometimes Moose for no other reason than they start with M (I resemble or act like neither animal, haha). That's strictly an immediate family thing though, for the rest...
This, of course, not including the songs that I've listened to a million times on CDs (mostly the Busby Berkeley soundtrack and songs downloaded from here.)
Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps - Cake
Ch-Check It Out - The Beastie Boys
Charade (Main Title) - Henry Mancini
Song 2 - Blur
Whatever Will...
I'm halfway through that movie! I wasn't too into the movie intially, until the "Isn't it Romantic" song number. That won me over. The jury's still out on what I think of him though.
1930s all the way!
LizzieMaine, I like your description of a period as feeling like *home*! I think you said it perfectly. :)
My interest originally started with World War II, but I've been slowly migrating backwards in time. I started out being a fan of big band swing - Benny Goodman...
Ooo, this is fun!:
1. The Thin Man - one of the first classic films I fell in love with
2. This Gun for Hire - Veronica Lake and Alan Ladd are so cute
3. Footlight Parade - I'm not a big musicals person, but I love Busby Berkeley musicals (and Dick Powell).
4. The 39 Steps -...
I'm with everyone on the Bonne Bell Lipsmackers! I loved those things and wore them since early grade school years. As far as makeup goes though, I didn't really wear any until high school, and even then I didn't wear very much - mostly just pale colors of eyeshadow and colored lipglosses. My...
This is an easy question: dark all the way! White chocolate doesn't really qualify as chocolate in my mind and milk chocolate often doesn't taste very chocolately.
I really need to go buy a bar of Green & Blacks - I've heard how good that brand is from so many people!
My parents recently moved from California to Colorado (they're in the Denver area), and they love it there. The housing is very affordable and the Rocky Mountains are beautiful. There are a lot of pretty nature areas if you're an outdoorsy person and Denver's not a bad city.
