I'd actually like to respectfully disagree. There are a lot of ladies here who are really experienced with setting their hair who will never be able to do it in 5 minutes. I have a ton of hair, and it's very thick - if I don't set small sections, it will fall out no matter what I do, which means...
I feel like I've fallen into this too. There's so much else going on - I'm tired, don't like to get up early, take minimal time to get ready for work.... I do still dress nice for work but just can't be bothered much with makeup.
I just wish I could be one of those people who could do myself...
Your dry cleaners is full of sh!t. Cleaning that skirt is no different than cleaning a quilt, which I'm sure they would do. They're just nervous about it because it's old.
I have a quilted circle skirt and I'll admit it's a pain to clean - I hand wash pretty much everything. I've washed this...
A bit off-topic here from the things men carry, but I actually use a cigarette case. I received one as a gift but quit smoking. I found that the case worked great for holding my credit cards, driver's license, etc - they fit perfectly! There's a little extra room for a few bills, or I stuff my...
The ash tray is awesome, but frankly your asking price is too high. Mid-century ashtrays, unless they're extraordinary, tend to go for less on Ebay - usually $15 and very frequently less. I also think a lot of people skip them if they're not smokers - not realizing that they're awesome to use as...
The problem with this is that the wedding is very soon and wearing a corset would cause the dress to fit improperly, as it's probably already been tailored to her uncorsetted measurements!
I tried a dipilatory once and wasn't really happy with it - it took a lot longer to work than it was supposed to, and still didn't get all of the hair.
Also, I must have still had a tiny bit on one of my fingers when I went to do my hair after that, because I ended up with a large strand of...
I'm not sure what actually distinguishes a "nurse cape" from any regular cape, but here are some patterns:

I have sweater dresses that i wear, but they're not too tight and they're a very heavy knit. I LOVE the sweater/skirt sets but I do find that they're just unflattering on me and are usually so skin tight that it's just not a look I like.
Even moreso, I avoid them because even when it's...
Order them on their website. They have the ones you're looking for there.
http://www.bassshoes.com. The "London Burgundy" is probably exactly what she's looking for.
I know you're looking for something that will last longer than her current ones, but that's kindof hard without spending mad...
Why not get another pair of Bass loafers? I hear they're the best.
I personally do not wear loafers. I think I was traumatized by being made to wear them as a child.
I find that a lot of retro styles tend to be wedges or have open toes, which may or may not be what you're looking for. A wedge may be easier on your feet than heels, and offer more arch support. I'd take a look at what Remix has on their site.
You should also keep your eyes open for Sofft...
They're worth trying on at a local shop, though. There's so much variety in styles and cut that it's hard to know. Everyone I know who has their Mary Janes styles thinks they're wicked comfy.
It's probably too tight in the band.
Unfortunately, the underarm bulge happens to a certain extent for most people, which is why I think strapless dresses don't work for most folks. Depending on her bust size, it might be worth exploring alternative bra options as well, like adhesives.
OH! I misread your post. Yes, the jewelry = oriental dancer. The scarf = peasant girl. Got it. That's what happens when I try to read late at night. Comprehension fail lol
Thanks again for the info. At this point, I'm wondering if it's not more effective to just do home waxing? In the long run it's not more cost affective, and it's messier, but much faster. An hour and a half? That's a lot of time to spend on home hair removal every month!
