    Nude. The part of the shoe that sits over your stocking is nude and I think that'd look really weird over black stocking - I equate it to wearing black stockings with white shoes. I actually equate black stockings with evening wear, but will wear black tights during the day if it's cold out.

    Even long layers are fine. Mine are pretty long and I have no problems. As Smuterella said, try bigger curls. Also, I've had good luck avoiding poofiness by using a wide toothed comb first and then just using the brush for smoothing at the end.
