You are correct, thanks for pointing that out
The boater offered by Bencraft appears identical to the hat I purchased from another retailer a couple years ago. At that time I did not know of Bencraft. Now that I am informed we'll advise Mr Kabuto to shop with Bencraft! It appears to me that...
I have a very similar boater
The hat I bought came from Miller Hats but it looks the same as your photo (to me). Mine is Italian made. I'm happy with it. These don't seem to be available in LO sizes but I'll have to say that the 7-1/8 which I have is more LO that I need. I don't know if that...
JP - just to be sure I checked a couple of my hats
Sorry to take up your classified space with this chatter...
Just to reassure myself that your fine Milan would be too big I checked a couple of my hats using the paper clip method which you show in your photos. Just as you did I measured...
I really like this hat but...
My problem is the inverse of Mr Jazzncocktails, I think it is too big for me. I'm a 7-1/8. Your excellent tape photo clearly shows right about 57cm but then your try-on makes me think it's between 7-/14 and 7-3/8, to large for me. Rats.
Good advice
Good advice from the man with the beautiful Optimo straw homburg. Both my hat cans came from the dealer that Mr Carlisle Blues has pointed out for us. I bought there based on price, but have found that both service and price are good reasons to trade with these folks. I don't...
I'd love to hear more about the riband
Mr Huang,
Sometime I'd love to see more about how you are making the "ribands" (ribbons to those of us in the American colonies) which are removable. I'd like to have a go at that myself. I really like the idea of the riband matching or picking up the...
Very nice
Thanks for taking time to video and then post this for us to see. If I attempted to carve something like the crease you chiseled out, mine would end up looking as if I had done it with a shotgun.
You really shaped that up nicely
Gees Mr Ojeda you really did a nice job on the form of that hat. I'd be interested to know how you manged to get the crown done so well.
Edit: Sorry, I just noticed that you have already demonstrated how you did it. Thanks for that.
Traveling without a hat can
Last year I took a Panama with me from North Carolina to the Bahamas. I carried it the whole way which was almost sucessful but really a pain. On the return trip from Lauderdale to Charlotte, NC we had a three seat isle with the center seat empty, I'm thinking easy...
Riverina Owner Checking In
Sir:
It has been raining and overcast here for a week so no photo yet. Still, I'm checking in. My MikeKized Riverina is still sporting it's off the peg Lawrence pug. The cotton twill tape is still rolled, same as it was the day I walked out of Hanfords door with it...
Mr Razz
Please sign me up for the burgundy one. I wish I could think of something to use the cream one for? Hummm...sign me up for the cream one also. Let me know how to get you paid.
Mr Bob, don't let them get to you.
As you are puffing on that stogie just pretend that you are sitting on that yellow and blue painted picnic table at the Jib Room, Marsh Harbour, siping on one of those red slushy Blige Water things. Better yet, the Green Turtle Inn, Green Turtle. Actually...
JP, it's good that you found Tybee Island
Happy to see that you found Tybee Island. Although it's losing it at a mile a minute there is some left of what used to be. When you get back to Savannah take a look-see at Pinkie Masters hole in the wall beer joint near the DeSoto hotel. It'll be the...
Sorry Mojave Jack
Sorry Mr Jack, I missed the Ruark book question. For sure you might like the book Use Enough Gun. I would also suggest The Old Man and the Boy (Ruark and his Grandfather growing up in rural eastern North Carolina). I'd say that any father who has a son, and for that matter a...
