Do a Google search with the following terms "leather, Greek, fisherman's hat," and you will find a zillion of 'em. Drop the greek and then the fisherman's and the offerings become larger and larger.

I must demur. While Mississippi is indeed warm and moist, until I had the experience of sitting by the side of the road for two days when the temperature hovered in the mid-nineties and so did the humidity I had absolutely no concept of discomfort. Also, you will lose your hat. You will lose...
...just mind the signals that you send with all elements of your appearance. Don't go native, you'll be ridiculous. Nor, however, should you present as a pukkah b'wana.

I made a similar trip many years ago, albeit from west to east, Dakar to Dar. My advice is to be cautious about the signals you send. What you take as style may be interpreted otherwise by the people through whose country you travel. You especially do not want to send military signals. This...
Trust me on this one. There is a period between the ages of four and sixteen when you actually get to sleep. Then they start driving and you never sleep again for the rest of your life.

Alas, I store all of my photographs on 24 mm by 36 mm pieces of acetate and I have yet to figure out how to convert them to electronic impulses. Perhaps I can enlist the aid of my teenagers...

Okay then...
Some people will buy a pair of custom Longmire cufflinks even though a set of gold-tone Swanks will just as...if not more...easilly close one's cuffs, at least until the swivel pops loose. We each know which we are and why.
