    JFK Movie

I caught part of the movie at a pizzeria waiting out the wretched opening bands of a show. I was impressed with the wardrobes.

What pens are we carrying today?

I picked up a gold and black Waterman Hemisphere (my first fountain / non-disposable pen) in Cambridge in May. I've used no pencil and no other pen since that day. I dropped it once, it has a small scuff from that (which irks me beyond belief), but beyond that works excellently. Carry him...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

    Saw that, too.

    Do you own a Tux?

I'd say that's rather true. The teachers I have who seem to take a true interest in what they're doing tend to have a a few pairs of good shoes. The ones who are there for the paycheck wear sneakers as much as possible (including with trousers...ew) and, if not, cheap loafers.

The Death (and rebirth!) of a Stetson Open Road

That really is a great hat on you. The brim compliments your features excellently, and the color of the felt and ribbon work great with your skin tone. I've noticed a trend. Good hats can be worn with a flannel or with a suit and there's no out of place look. This is one of those hats.

    Do you own a Tux?

On an aside, but still related. I think that your hair and your shoes are VITAL to your formal look. Recalling my friends' outfits worn to Homecoming....atrocious is not a rude enough word. They had bought rather expensive suits. But wore cheap, old Payless shoes. Hideous! Not even a hint...

The Death (and rebirth!) of a Stetson Open Road

Someone needs to do this with a Fed IV. Amazing looking hat you got yourself!

    Leather Spectators on Sale

Plus I think black and white is a bit more versatile for my wardrobe, and I haven't the money to buy tons of shoes.

    A veteran's sad end

That hit home. My family has a lot of sad stories with WWII, no happy ones. My paternal great uncle was the only survivor when his ship was bombed. He became a drunk. My maternal great uncle fought from D-Day (not Omaha, I forget which landing) through the Pacific theater. One fateful day...

Prokudin-Gorsky: Early 20th century in color

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the man, but my friend spoke of him and I didn't believe it 'til I saw it. A Russian chemist and photographer, he developed a method of color photography in 1905. He would take 3 pictures in rapid succession, each using a filter in the primary...

    Cap-firing Tommys

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_reviews.php?products_id=1061 Mostly metal. No wood. Shoots incredibly fast, and you can easily modify it to have blowback. http://www.wwiiguns.com/store/product_details.php?p=217 ^^^ That is definitely the best, though.

I'll find some photos Any animal that needs adopting finds its way to my house. 3 cats: Romeo and Juliette we found homeless living under a walkway at a shopping center as winter encroached. It took us 3 days to gain their trust and get them home. They've been here for a few years now, love...

    Some Advice Needed Please

DEFINITELY not an expert, but... Take a tailor's cloth-tape measure, or any soft tape measure (don't use the one's in your garage), and a friend. Have them wrap it around your head about an inch above your eyes and the largest part of the back of your head. Measure to 1/8 of an inch. For...

    Cap-firing Tommys

In the UK it's perfectly legal. There's simply an FPS cap. They won't sell guns with an FPS over 300 to you.

    The Spanish Civil War

I'd just like to back what Feltfan said. The Mediterranean had been a hotbed of revolutionary fervor since the Franco-Prussian war (which lead to the Paris Commune amongst others). Workers in that area had not forgotten those times and the good it did for them. About 70% of the Spanish...
