I did not win, I'm sorry to say. For some inexplicable reason I elected to post a snipe at about the price of one martini below the BIN price. When one makes silly decisions such as that one cannot expect to win.
I was hopeful that some of the good folks on this forum who know about such things would offer up an opinion. I could not bid on the shoes without knowing these are really near a D width.
Sirs:
Do you suppose that the seller is correct when he states that these size 10 A shoes were made on a last which equals a todays 10 D with a narrow heel?
Thanks to Mr. Chevalier for drawing out attention to these swell shoes.
Good news from Bo Furt. I was afraid that you'd find the town a mess. That old girl has weathered a bunch of storms.
From what I'm hearing, even with the idea that the storm had dropped to a Cat 1, its track along the right coast along with all of the flooding will put Irene into the record...
Same for me. Alas, I'm too short and too thick to stuff myself into Mr. Fairbanks clothing. That red leather chair, on the other hand...I guess it would be cost prohibitive to have the auction house crate and ship it, not that I'd have the chance of the proverbial snow ball of winning the chair.
Gees...really nice stuff. I would love to own that morning suit or the red leather chair. I suppose there are no size details available for the clothing. Thanks to Mr. Chevalier for bringing this auction to our attention.
It's good to hear from you Mr. Finch, and good to hear that your electric power has been restored. I noticed yesterday on the Progress Energy website that 94% of the people in Craven County were without power. I guess the New Bern area fared worse than we hoped it would. Is there anything you...
Mr. Finch, I'm hoping that Irene will take her eye off you and head back out into the open Atlantic. Please keep an eye on that thing and bolt if you need to do so.
One thousand drats, MM. This suit is just too large for me to have altered. I'd need 47-48" jacket and 37-38" trousers. Mother of all bummers. I hope you are holding up OK with the miserable weather of the sandhills this year.
A.K.A Sudden Discomfort as it known in this neck of the wood. Headache in a bottle.
If you have the means my advice is to stick with the middle shelf up until you find what you like. Your head will be grateful.
Black Beam is really quite good. From time to time it has won high ratings and...
Methinks if you happen to inhale cigar smoke you'll know it and know not to do so again. As for how to smoke cigars my only advice is to take your time with the thing and enjoy it. Don't draw on it so fast that it goes like a cannon fuse. Some friends of mine will smoke a $10 cigar as fast as...
Belk, a chain shop in my part of the south, NC, runs really good sales on linen and seersucker starting about this time of year. I see Haspel and Nautica, for example, and these are often offered as separates which sometimes helps with the correct fit. Dunno if Belk ranges as far as DFW.
I bought the blue linen. It is a very nice jacket and seemed to be the best bargin ever. Sadly, as others have said, it was just too long for my 5'9" height and so I reluctantly returned it. My below the collar seam measurement of the jacket was 34", which is surely a long. Bummer.
My hat is...
It is a nice hat, unfortunately it is a bit too large for me. Because it seemed a bit large I took a look-see under the sweat and found that the hat is actually a 7-1/4 not 7-1/8 as Mr. Trotsky had thought. I bought this hat to replace a really nice Mossant 7-1/4 I have and so the Dobbs didn't...
