He looks like a guy that has pretty well settled on what styles he likes to wear.
His hats, or the ones I can see, seem to be of the same style (shape) so he probably has quite a number of suits that also are of the same cut and style.
He may prefer those lapels because the long...
Thanks Art
Would Onionskin be a Industry term for that part of a hat or a hat makers slang term?
Do you know if this name was ever used in advertising?
Hi Guys,
What would be the correct term for the thin material behind the sweatband? I think it's a barrier to lessen sweat from staining the ribbon and felt.
Maybe there is also common slang terms...or different terms from different hat makers.

Thanks for the imput. Nice Homberg !
I have a Resistol with the H. Rolnick logo but not the shield & lions. I have seen several Resistols on ebay with the shield & lions that are stated to be any where from late 40's to early 60's. Which prompted my question on the Lounge. I am beginning...
I didn't know how to do that except to duplicate the same posts here. That didn't seem to be the right thing to do.
There are some examples of the same and similar liners at the beginning of this thread. But, I get myself lost and confused going back and forth from page to page trying to...
Thanks John and Randall.
I posted a couple of other questions about a Resistol with Landman today in the 'ask a question, get an answer' thread.
If you get a chance take a look at post 6261 in that thread. Your input would be appreciated.
Thanks Landman,
I noticed the 'BR' in the shield at the top of logo, this would put this liner during the Byer-Rolnick time frame while utilizing Harry's name.
Does the type of liner cover of the first photo, not clear plastic, have any thing to do with the dating of this liner design...
I posed this question on the Resistol Roundup thread. I think it got lost in the mix over there. so I thought I would try it here.
Does anyone have an idea about the time frame of these two Resistol liner logos and if so which one would most likely be older or would they be about the same...
Yep...I though it was very s-l-o-w moving and predictable. Quaid has over played the "serious man of few words cowboy" type. His character is boring.
It takes a few episodes for good actors to develope their characters. Maybe this show will have enough Network backing to hang around long...
Hey Baron and Monk,
I have been replacing my now to big hats with a more comfortable 6 3/4 this year. Downsizing on a frugal budget.
I have found 6 3/4 size to be like the larger hat sizes....There is not that many to choose from and the nicer ones usually have stiff competion in the...
Thanks, Randooch.....I'll take all the lucky I can get....
After a lot of unexplained weight loss last year and buzz cutting what hair I have left....I went from a 6 7/8 hat to a 6 3/4.
AND...old people do shrink  lol
Thanks, Manfred
I think most of the stains on the liner will come out with a good Woolite bath. It has been my experience, so far, that a woolite bath or two does wonders to some liner stains.
the price of Whippets seems to still be rather high so...I'm satisfied with a few stains and the...
Just arrived this morning. My first catches on the bay since my world was flooded out back in June.
Black/blue Portis Sterling Homberg $22.50 shipped. Just needs a brushing and a trip to the freezer to be on the safe side.
Stetson Whippet $37.00 shipped. Gonna need some brushing, Woolite...
Along with my earlier question in post 565 about a Resistol liner dating and current price going rate..
Which of these two resistol liners would be the oldest or would they be of the same era? Both are from Resistol fedora Kitten Finish Beaver Fifteen's.

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a time frame and current price range of a Resistol. I only have a useable photo of the liner logo. The other photo is to blury to see anything.

It's a fedora, not a western, in good condition with about 1' of the sweatband threads missing. Thats the...
A ebay question about a ebay oddity.
What do you guys think about a ebay member since 2006 having a zero rating with a yellow star....no buys, no sales.
Is there such a thing as having a record wiped out after a period of time with no activity while still keeping the original join date?
