I've heard good things about the film of Steamboy too. I watched Sleepy Hollow the other night--fantastic steampunky production design.
In other news--
Another amazing monogoggle:
Some affordable boots posted at Steamfashion that I want:
Another yay for the Gallery of Regrettable Food!
I also love his site on the American Motel (http://www.lileks.com/motels/index.html), and Urban Studies especially Minneapolis.
And on the serious side, the piece he wrote about his mother's death is quite touching...
Tonight I went to a restaurant that was open to a courtyard full of hibiscus blossoms. I jokingly put one that had fallen behind my ear and a friend took a picture. I've cropped out my second friend who didn't like the way she looked (even though she looks great).
It was a little cool by...
I went out to dinner tonight and wore one of my 1940's novelty print dresses (a pattern of hat boxes, gloves and swirls on a navy ground), 1970's black ankle strap shoes with white stitching; (I need a pair of navy and/or brown heels), and rimless spectacles. I didn't do much in the way of hair...
Daisy, both those knitted outfits are darling--I can just see them on you.
Pigeontoe--what a great collar (and thanks for mentioning it's VBO time again on the 'bay, I hadn't realized).
That sounds like a super cute outfit Kitty--lucky to find the pedal pushers.
Brooksie, I love your outfit and your couch! Does the back cushion have ruching? I've never seen that before. Very nice.
Just wondering if any of you ladies swipe vintage clothes from the boys?
Both of my favorite winter coats were made for men and I've just bought some vintage suspenders. I'm tempted by some of the vintage men's shoes I've seen too.
How about you?
Well, I've gotta keep up with my roomie don't I? ;)
Seriously, this is what I was thinking of doing as well (where else do you get to show off your duds?).
I'm wondering about the Friday night dinner too--long dress? Fancy short dinner dress? Decisions, decisions. What have people...
It was Sleepy Hollow for the first time last night for me. How did I miss this one all these years?
Very enjoyable, the look of the production being the most important character in the film. Great supporting cast with Michael Gambon, cameos by Martin Landau and Christopher Lee...
I adore the girl in the "One Last Kiss" photo--if you looked up "the girl back home" in the dictionary you'd see her picture. Her whole look is marvelous but her hair is especially lovely.
As ever, great pictures Atomic! You've got such a great graphic sense with your bed linens and putting pictures on your plain kitchen cabinets--they really pop. I'm also covetous of your "Men on Her Mind" poster--so great. Nice views too.
