In Texas, beauty school students still have to do pin curls for their exam. It may be the same in Mass.? I would check with the beauty schools in the area. I took the cosmetology course in my high school. We had to do fingerwaves and pin curls everyday. I would have loved to practice on a real...
Don't apologize, everything IS in Texas!
Yes, there will be a theatrical aspect to it. We invited 20 people, and they all have characters to play. They have to dress up. One will be murdered and all the guests are suspects. So far, we found some fantastic music to play. I need to think up a...
I had the Eagle Creek backback too. I highly recommend. The one I had, you could use as a backback, or tuck everything in and use it as a suitcase. They even have ones with wheels now

In a couple weeks, I am having a Roaring 20s Murder Mystery Dinner and turning my condo into a Speakeasy! Does anyone have any suggestions? I have found a couple recipes and ideas, but if anyone has done something like this or has any creative ideas I'd love to hear them!
There are 2 types of handles for Curling Irons:
Spring Type - means that you will use your thumb to open the iron, and a spring will close the iron. Spring type irons are normally found in the home.
Marcel Type - means that your hand will close and open the iron. There is no spring to...
I spent 6 weeks in Europe traveling to 10 countries a few years ago. If I can suggest one thing, pack light! I brought mix and match separates, and only had one bag, with a smaller backback that attached. I did laundry once a week or so. I saw other people at train stations and airports with all...
I just stumbled across this book, looks really interesting. Does anyone have it?

I work in a library in an advertising agency and we have the "All American Ads" book series. What era do ya'll want? They start at 1900s to 1980s. They have a section beauty? I can post some of the ads :)
I LOVE this show. I watch it all the time. Stacy and Clinton crack me up. I have taken a few of their tips. If they have someone with my body shape on, I'll see what they suggest. And I think the suggestions I have tried have been flattering. BUT I still can't get into the pointy shoe. I'll try...
Dillards does have some really cute vintagey hats for fall! Also, SteinMart has a lot too. Some of them were big on me, so ya'll might try those two places. SteinMart's prices were better that Dillard's and they had a couple of the exact same hats, $48 vs $30
I'm the same size and I just feel lucky if I can find a bra that fits! I've never seen retro bra styles in our size. I usually buy a UK brand Fantasie you are probably familiar with.
You might try Almay's TLC long lasting lip color. I'm not sure how the reds look, but I have a pink that I like. I don't think it's quite as drying as the Covergirl.
