My new Cavanagh The ebay seller say "1940's" and for myself I don't know. It seems to have the Cavanagh edge, and the felt is dense but velvety too. Here are some pictures: -

Here in NYC, I've been wearing straw Panamas and Milans, felt fedoras and pork pies. Some funny looks. But lots of respectful and positively curious looks. The only comments have been positive. It seems that more people are wearing hats here in the city than I remember from previous years... -
