    College Football!

Click below, and try to imagine being there in person.... In Tiger Stadium they march out from the south endzone, then the drums start, and the entire band plays the four notes, and it just sends shivers, and they turn to each corner of Tiger Stadium. Touchdow n For LSU (Pregame) This isn't...

    Merged Hatter Thread

I removed mine, even though I'm not a retailer, just a moderator and poster on another website. FWIW, we've not allowed commercial url's in sig tags over there, but that's been the policy of that site from the beginning. I would guess it's the abrupt change and the fact that it was allowed...

    Who reblocks hats around here?

I just called "Meyer the Hatter" in New Orleans. RedPop: "Do you all do re-blocking and restoration?" MtH: "No, sure don't. Our man retired two years ago." :( :( :( There MUST be an opportunity for at least one or two persons here to make a bit of cash, if not a passable living doing...

The KitchenAid: Modern, Vintage or Timeless?

I was blessed, and fortunate enough to receive a burgundy/deep red Artisan 20 days ago for my 40th birthday. MrsRedPop had ordered it months ago. I've used it twice, so far, I baked two batches of rolls last week, and I'm thrilled with it.

    College Football!

My beloved Tigers played so very well, got a win in Little Rock, and are now ranked #5 :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Down here in TigerLand we're excited about the prospects to go to a BCS bowl, and POSSIBLY to the Grand Daddy of them all. That would be...

Hi there! Fedora lover with a school project!

I'm Tommy from New Orleans. I believe I'm in line with many of my colleagues here: I wear my hat almost every day. I doff it when I enter a building or a private residence, in Church and many other indoor venues. However, I leave it on inside if I'm in a store or similar type locale. I...

    What's on your list??

Dang, Jon!!!!! I'd like style more than brands, although I'd like to own some brands, too. I would really like to get some of those lighter colored hats I see some of you have; the same for some wider brim styles, although not too tall. A slightly tighter weave Montecristi would be nice...

How often do you wear your hat?

I wear a hat every day. It's rare that I don't wear a hat. Mrs. RedPop4 is still not disposed to my fedoras, so on occasion when we'll be together going to eat somewhere, or to Church, I'll not wear one. But those days are maybe once or twice each month.

What do you tote your lunch in?

I use a large, insulated lunch kit. I can put my Tupperware or Gladware inside of it. It'll keep the food out of the refrigerator at a fair temperature. It bears the logo of my favorite team, whose colors run in my veins, as well.

    Thanksgiving Dinner

I did a test run of the rolls tonight. My good friend has posted articles about his Thanksgiving feast. He used to live here in New Orleans, and aspires to be a chef. Anyway, I'm linking you to his series of Thanksgiving articles on our other website. It's the lead series right now at the...

    College Football!

Honduran, Div. I-AA does a playoff with the top 16 teams. If schools this size or smaller, Div. II and III can travel, all over on a week's notice ,there's no reason Division I-A can NOT have a playoff. These other divisions are in playoffs, or will be by this weekend, and they'll play in and...

    What a week!

You look so completely different in the homburg as opposed to what the snap-brim does to you. I say this in a good way. The grin helps, too.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap lol

    Thanksgiving Dinner

OK, the turkey is cleaned and in the molasses/brine solution. I took the giblets and all out, and the stock is made for the gravy and for basting. Warbird lives around Nashville.

Instruments - what do you play?

I took piano and organ lessons from 2nd grade until college. I've been playing in Church since 1983, as a junior in high school.

    Thanksgiving Dinner

I forgot about the garlic-mashed potatoes. That's my responsibility, as well. I have some homemade bread I got earlier this week, I may make a stuffing out of it, or bread pudding, haven't yet decided. Maybe croutons for the salad someone else is bringing. Warbird, don't know if I'm going to...

    Dobbs & Resistol

Yes indeed, Jon. Doing the decaf. Costa Rican tonight so that the family has something nice to drink on Thursday night when they all come for supper. Those are great, that Dobbs is simply an amazing hat. The color contrast is fantastic, it really suits you. I'm not much on a thin ribbon...

    Thanksgiving Dinner

Giving a cursory glance down the first page, I saw the "What's Cooking" thread to which I posted a week or so ago. How are you and your family preparing and fixing your Thanksgiving dinner? My extended family, my in-laws are coming over for supper, around 5:00 pm. We share the cooking...

    College Football!

I'm sorry to see the Service academies have less than stellar teams. There's SO much tradition there, and those guys really play for the love of it, as most will not go on to the NFL afterwards. Roger Staubach and Napoleon McCallum were simply outstanding men. The same goes for David Robinson in...
