Music on YouTube has sucked the past three hours from me--it's a blessing and a curse. I did find some gems, including the best version of U2's With or Without You that I've ever heard though, so I guess the evening isn't a total loss.
This is one of my favorite threads on the Lounge. I've been remiss in leaving individual comments but everybody looks great. I especially like SSB's striped socks. I've always wanted a pair of those--I may have to break down and get them .
Thanks so much for the pictures--everyone looks marvelous and Samantha is just stunning! I love the color of her dress and her headpiece looks vintage (wonder if it is?). Are they off on their honeymoon now?
I walked out of a job interview last fall and they were shooting scenes of a movie with Dane Cook and Kate Hudson at the church across the street. I also passed some cameras and such in Boston's Public Garden when they were shooting footage for the remake of The Women. I saw no stars alas, but...
Lisa Fonssagrives. A book about Irving Penn's wife and muse. Wonderful pictures but the essays are great too, especially the one by David Seidner (I love his work; he died way too soon).
Very true--I'm a huge Atom Egoyan fan. I really want to listen to his commentary for the film. I like the Pied Piper theme in that very much--you could apply it to several of the story threads.
The acting is very strong too; I'd watch Ian Holm read the phone book and Sarah Polley is...
I'm in a business where I expect to be laid off every 2-3 years so I'm sort of used to it, recession or no recession. Because I plan for it I actually rather enjoy having a couple months off when the axe falls.
I have a friend who's job hunting now who's been shocked by how few jobs there...
6 episodes of ThirtySomething. The whinyness gets to me sometimes but the writing is strong and they were very funny. I wish they'd release this on DVD--I've still got my old VHS tapes.
LOL, indeed!
There's some great lines in that:
Jerry Warriner: In the spring, a young man's fancy lightly turns to what he's been thinking about all winter.
Dan: Glad to know you.
Jerry Warriner: Well, how can you be glad to know me? I know how I'd feel if I was sitting with a girl...
I'm getting the flu that's being passed around the office but I've got stuff to do so I can't take a sick day--how to motivate oneself? Finding a lipstick you haven't worn in awhile, of course! I rediscovered Smashbox Stunning this morning. I like it quite a bit.
