Hard to say
It might be OK, but I think life owes you a really good trench coat to go with the fine hats.
My long beige Burberry with wool liner set me back a little over $100.00 as I recall, and the ladies all go "Ah, a Burberry !" Priceless !
I'll keep an eye out, too, on da Bay, if you...
Absolutely. I have looked for an Aquascutum now and then, without success.
I did, however, find stashed back in a closet my grandfather's old Alligator trench. Rayon -1950s - St. Louis. It actually fits. I was shocked.
I have purchased several Burberrys on da Bay. The main thing is to make sure of the sizing. You'll need the measurements, and a lot of the sellers post those in their listings. It's funny, the 50 long I have is quite roomy, but the 48 regulars are snug with a sport coat on. I'd say generally...
I showed the picture of the Swanepoel Homburg to my St. Regis, and it insisted on being put back in its box.
As Sir Winston might have said, tomorrow these hats will still be ugly.
Book Him !!!
The suspect Albertus Swanepoel was advised of his rights under Miranda v. Arizona and made the following statement in response to questioning :
Q. Being that you are a hat designer, how often do you wear a hat?
A. I don’t really wear hats, except in the cold of winter. I...
I think Albertus Swanepoel was the villain in an early Bond movie.
My little photo funny has been deleted as unfair to both Escape from New York and the legendary Isaac Hayes.
But why did these have to escape from New York ?
Yes !
... This is what I use for searches. I have it bookmarked in my browser, and when I want to run a search, it's easy to get at, and putting the phrase of what I want in quotes gives me even more accurate results. When I have a question, I'll run a search this way, then a couple on TFL...
I have read nothing, ever, that indicates that Herr Hitler's people had any success spying in the U.S. This would have to be something new, but I'll wager it just isn't at all.
Thanks for your time on this, Amateisgal and Chasseur.
Thanks for that information !
I still enjoyed the footage from the "grand opening" in 1933. In one clip, you see construction workers at the base of the diamond antenna, then you see their work destroyed 77 years later, for the second time, as the SS dropped the masts at near the end of WWII.
The Story and End of the Bisamburgsender (1933-2010).
This could go here, under Radio, under Hats, and under the Loss of Architectural Treasures. There is good footage in the middle for the hat fans, Homburgs galore.

Please to enjoy, except...
I'm not the Great Arbiter of good taste, but it looks to me that my Roadmaster, which is "Natural" in color works with the khakis and navy blazer.

I'm with it !
W4ASZ -- the antenna restrictions were intended to keep out television (other than the Baird-Jenkins mechanical system!) and the various UHF services such as cellphones and wi-fi. We could certainly amend to allow special exceptions for equipment manufactured before January 1...
Treading upon dangerous ground ...
"6. No electronic communications antenna, tower, or array operating in any frequency range in excess of 30 megacycles, whether for transmission or reception, shall be permitted within the city limits."
Now, if I want to put up a CB radio ground plane...
Not Heresy, but ...
I came close to bidding on that one. My inclination, were it mine, would be to get it cleaned and blocked and then to enjoy the hell out of it !
Conversion is for religion, not hats. ;)
