Vintage car observation.
Looks great from the pic. Is it a California car? I keep seeing this rat-rod around town, a 34 ford covertible or at least it is now, but it still has it's 34 califorina plate! I love that.- shamus

30's~40's Work Boots
what I did was ordered the Boss Boots from West Coast Shoes, but in Brown, which you have to ask for, then went with the "Motor Cycle Police" toe and the lowest sole they had. This best looked like the classic 40's-50's engineer boots. And now with a little Breaking in, they're starting to...- shamus

30's~40's Work Boots
Redwing does make one, and I see a lot of the horsehide wolverine's on ebay. And it's real vintage, but usually odd sizes. Those Indy boots do look quite nice. I personally bought a pair of West Coast Shoes Engineer boots, but had them custom made to look like a pair of 50's engineer boots.- shamus

Willis and Geiger made their shirts with a bi-swing back, even the dress shirts. But they're gone now. I do still have one W&G shirt that is very comfortable to wear. -

Mycroft did you intentionally put the drinking smiling man beside the comment on pilots? If not it was kind of funny.. in an ironic way that is. Kudos to that pilot! But 4 hours of coverage on local LA tv was a bit much...- shamus

Cars then and Now
looks like a Cord 812. But it looks low to the ground. The 812 was supercharged and could do 100 mph. Much faster than any police car of the day and the car I believe was the first with retractable headlights. I use to live near Auburn Ind. where they once made Auburn, Cord and Duesenbergs...- shamus

How many folk know their own country's anthem these days?
I don't think it's a lack of respect, they just don't know they're suppose too. I've come to the realization that there are just a bunch of really ignorant people in this country. Kids are graduating high school who couldn't point to the USA on a world map. How in the world would they know...- shamus

It IS All About Arm Holes
have you tried cleaning it? And the smell just adds to the "correctness" of the period. Or just buy suits from places that are cold and people don't sweat that much.
