I am looking forward to the new Pirates film, but I would have to disagree on Goldmember as better than the first. I though Austin Powers was a really excellent comedy/spoof. I felt Goldmember was squeezing the film for every last laugh.
there is probably a nice thread about this already... but I just picked up my first new to me panama straw hat. It's vintage and very nice, but lightly soiled and need a light cleaning..
How should I do this?
Thanks, I'll post pre and post pics when I try out your suggestions...
Another Borsalino just sold for 128.00. What's going on? When did hats become so popular to the modern masses? Granted a Borsalino is one fine hat, and is my favorite of all that I own, but over $100 for a 50+ year old hat? I'm just glad I have some already and I don't have to pay that much...
I remember Aero selling those as copies of one someone picked up on ebay. You can still get double V's from aero. Some place in Japan actually makes them.
suit update...
I dopped it off at the tailor today to lengthen the sleeves. He asked me to wear it. I did and he said..."oh, you want to loosen up the belly" I had to explain, that no, that's the point of owning a vintage suit that it doesn't look like a box... But I am letting out the...
to me a true rat-rodder would not have a radio in his car.
I agree that if it's original keep it that way. If it's junk or scrap.. then make it like they would have back in the day.
Hot rods were rat rods at one time. But along the way they changed. Now rat rods are back.. I still...
Turner has been showing Robert Mitchum films all this week and I've noticed something on the ones I've seen so far.
Robert just can't wear a suit. It looks like it just hangs on him or bunches up, or is crooked. When he wears a sport shirt he looks great, but none of his suits seam to...
this is a great deal, unfortunatly, who ever owned it must have stuffed it in tiny box then run over it as it's the most wrinkly (only worn twice) jacket I've ever seen. It will take the new owner months of wear to get those wrinkles out.
Great buy though. If it were brown I'd bought it.
I saw many episodes. I went mostly for the story. No real suits, as it was set during the depression in california and everyone was poor or dirt poor.
It will not be back, as HBO thought they'd finished the story and had no more. So what you see is all there is.
When I was a poor college student, I needed a haircut but really didn't have any money so I was in Lafayette IN and saw a barber pole on top of those stairs that go down under the building. The building was the court house I believe. Well beside that pole was a hand written sign that said...
The man could sure write a song though... And I believe he as often photographed with a beat up fedora on his head.
Music and beauty are in the eye of the beholder/listener
Since you're in CA and it's a 73.. why do you have the smog hooked up? No smog tests on pre 74's....
My 70 bronco never came with it, but post years did but you don't need them if you don't need the smog tests...
Root,
I've always used a fast drying enamel. I've made a few wwii patches with great success. And I've talked with an artist who's uncle painted jackets and noses (aircraft that is) and said he used enamel.
I draw out with a pen as you can't really draw on leather with a pencil. Carbon...
