Paydirt! I tried bun snood as well and both work - cheers for that idea! I tried on Ebay but will try on Etsy, too.
I've got a few on the watch list now (including a couple from Thailand, funnily enough) - I'm kid in candy store at the moment! No worries about them not being vintage, but...
Yes, pics please! And place of purchase, too. I think what you're describing is something I have been looking for - kind of what dancers wear, like a mini-snood, but with pretty pretties attached. I saw a vast array in Thailand and have been looking for them since!
I tried it once. My reaction upon first placing it in my mouth was that I was very nearly, to put it as delicately as I can, quite ill. Someone else's sweaty gym socks was my first impression. I persisted, and the taste did seem to improve over several micro-mini bites. However, I don't...
A name from the past...I used to watch that guy on "Nulle Part Ailleurs" when I was living in France. THAT Karl Zero? I wondered when clicking on this post...
I'll have to have a look...
Around my house we call it "the Stynx Effect"...
Nearly every Christmas my other half, who is in his mid-40's mind, comes back from visiting his folks with a "present" from their next-door neighbour: a bottle of Lynx product, or Adidas, or something equally foul and cheap. I think he should do...
I could never figure out how it would be possible to walk in those kinds of slippers...eek!
I have a pair of house slippers of a brand called Goody. Some of the models are a bit OTT, but they are definitely unique...
I'm keeping an eye on the finances but I really love that second pair. I may have to wait for a sale, as I've just bought the Clarks ones. They do actually look better "in person"; in fact I went into the store to have a look at a dress shoe which was posted on here, saw those boots and it was...
Puzzicato, we need to know where those came from! My preference is the second because of the small but elegant heel and the fur top.
Check the Lynton Bombay model at Clarks, which is very similar - just to confuse the issue!
I thought of this thread on the way to work today when I was listening to my ipod - How could I forget Bunny Berigan's "Mama, I Wanna Make Rhythm", which is delightfully smutty. Plus he sounds a bit in his cups as he's singing it. Swell tune!
I can hear John Waters in my head, saying, "Definitely a hair-don't"! I could take the mick out of this cover 100 ways to Sunday (should we be being used by Jesus on the Sabbath?), but it's waaaaaay to easy. (Just one, doesn't the one on the left look a bit like Brendan Fraser?)
A grilled cheese sandwich, with Heinz tomato soup on the side. Cheapo soft sliced bread (the only way I can bear to eat that stuff), and either cheddar-type cheese or those cheese-food slices in plastic wrap will do, but the bread has to be well-buttered and the sandwich cooked super super...
There was a TV movie made about it which I saw, called "Stolen Babies". It didn't really go into anything about specific individuals who may have adopted the babies; it was more about the fight of the young lady who found out about the dirty deeds to stop the whole business.
I actually quite like Johnny Depp, and the abovementioned Robert Downey Jr.. And I love "The Thin Man" series. But oh, God, please no.
No one can replace Loy and Powell. Or Asta, for that matter.
When it comes to that, who comes to mind is that big bloke in the dance sequence in "Day at the Races". Holey moley! Fats Waller seemed to move with grace and subtlety, but I've never seen him dance.
As to embarrassment on the dance floor, well almost every time in ballroom! I'm not very...
I recall growing up (in the US) in the 70's/80's with 5 or 6 channels on something, and I remember watching a lot of those older shows. Another thing I remember as was much much more variety in programming, obscure stuff that I've not seen the like of since with the hundreds of useless channels...
