Miss Crisplock, I don't see how you could cold process cold cream, it contains beeswax or parafin (Ponds uses beeswax). You have to process those with heat since they are solids. Right?
So, why is it called cold cream?
Hm, although the guys in this thread could use a little cleaning up, it is not like the average Joe in the 1940's was that clean cut.
Sure shaving and hair cuts were mandatory in school, military and some jobs. But I've seen a lot of photos of artists, farmers, 30's hobos (I couldn't...
My grandmother never shaved. She was born around 1920. She had blond hair, and rather sparse, which she said was because she didn't shave. She insisted that my dark haired mom not shave--which didn't work, my mom had to beg to be allowed to shave.
I imagine that before specialty razors...
There are plenty of new shoes that have soft leather, but they cost upwards of $100 in my experience. I bought a pair of gold Marc Jacobs 20's style shoes on sale for around $100 (originally $389) and the leather is fairly soft. My Bally work shoes (around $200 retail) are as soft as butter...
It isn't in the water, it's in the meat. It is growth hormones. They are probably in your beef unless you pay extra money for "hormone free". You eat the beef with hormones, you get bigger.
It is too difficult to put them into the ocean at high enough rates to make the fish grow extra...
Kinerase is for sun damage, it is expensive though.

You can get a cream with licorice extract in it for redness. Vitamin E is supposed to make...
You can also put the pattern onto sew in interfacing-the felted kind.
You can get pattern paper here (sorry it's not in the UK):

The rulers at sewtrue are useful too.
I am a long time vegetarian, and I prefer organic food.
I also work for a food wholesale company, we do have some organic products.
However, there is something about organic and it's pricing that kind of leaves me PO'd. The only reason that it is higher priced is because it is organic...
Yes Caledonia, all of the above. I still don't like the feel of it. My skin is oily, especially in this over-warm summer.
However, I do have an old recipe for Rose Water Cold Cream
1 oz white beeswax
1 oz spermaceti (ok this is not available anymore, use Cetyl Palmitate instead)
10...
Why do you think the girl in the red trousers has her hands behind her back. Probably holding the trousers up until she can get to the bathroom and fix them!
lol
They have a few more new styles too. However, they are not available on the website. They have a few shoes in the store that aren't on their site also.
I assume they also still have deadstock, since that is what they did originally.
Sad thing is that even though I am local, money is a...
They are retro, but not even close to accurate. I recall wearing jeans like the ones Etienne mentioned to school even in the late 70's (right before "designer jeans" hit).
I have some modern jeans like the ones I wore in the 70's (but a lot bigger), they are loose in the leg with the flare...
I got one of the lipsticks and the vintage red nail polish (great shade btw). I am still searching for the other lipsticks locally. No luck yet.
It was just in time too, since the stuff from the Max Factor vintage line from a few years ago had to be thrown out. They had reds and a fuschia...
OK, well if the twinfit is plastic, then my instructions about the cover apply to the other kind of dress form, the foam ones.
Anyway, does anyone here use Olfa cutters and mats? I used to be a skeptic when my mom was using them, but now I am a convert. I mostly use my Gingher's for detail...
I believe the Twinfit forms are foam, right? You can customize one of them to your shape by making a cover for it. So lets say you bought a foam form that was 34" 26" 26" but you are 34" 24" 34". No problem, you just sew the cover to your exact dimensions and put it over the foam. Once...
Paul,
That would be a very small percentage of women who wear corsets, most women could never get a corset tight enough for the ribs to meet. I can only think of four in the world today who even come close to that. There are probably only a few more than that that can lace that tight...
I am a Scorpio sun with Leo rising. However, I capable of getting along with any other sign--if I feel like it.
I haven't met anyone yet who was not pretty much exactly like their chart (not just sun sign), and I've done about 50 charts.
OK, that's my 2c.
That's great. However, what I want to know is, anyone out there actually able to do this on themselves, with hairpins? (clips and bobbies don't count). If so, my kudos to you.
I can't. :(
Also, if anyone has instructions on using one of those pin curl winders, please share. I got one...
I like corsets, and have never got worse than a "does that hurt?" when I wear them in public. This is even when I wore a 21" corset laced closed (and I am NOT a small person--6' tall and about a 28" or 29" waist at the time).
Mostly I have been wearing corsets under clothing to Victorian...
It looks like you'll be in the market for a lovely corset to go with that chatelaine! No dieting needed! :)
If you are normally a 26-28" waist, there will be no problem to get that small. A 2" reduction you would barely notice, when you get to 3-4" it is merely tight.
After that...
