    Vanishing cream and cold cream?

That sounds more like it, the article suggests that one uses vanishing cream and a dab of rouge for everyday wear! Thanks for solving the conundrum....;)

    Vanishing cream and cold cream?

Are they the same? I'm reading an article in the 1939 Film Review book and it talks about vanishing cream a lot! Can you still buy it? I know you can stil buy cold cream.

Replicaters in India, How good are they?

I concur with Mr Cobden. Pegasus Militaria is the way forward. Next to our originals it's faultless. You don't look like a big chap. Why not try for originals? Kate

Joan Collins says British women have given up trying to look good.

I'm a fan of natural beauty rather than botox and face lifts!

Joan Collins says British women have given up trying to look good.

They're terribly funny about taking photos in Harrods, you get knobbled by their security staff if you try. Although I saw Tony Curtis in there the same day, what a gent. He was posing for photos with fans and I just daren't ask him...:o Yes, crypt keeper was fairly accurate description...

Joan Collins says British women have given up trying to look good.

Oh lets not do the Atlantic divide thing! I live in a little market town, very historic quite 'staid' but 13 miles away there's a big city. The fashion there seems to be flashing as much flesh as poss' I find it really sad. I'm a hefty kinda gal but I dress to accentuate my positives. 50s...

Joan Collins says British women have given up trying to look good.

Having seen Joan thisclose recently, she has a bit of a cheek! (I saw her in Harrods fact fans, sans wig) Yes, I think she has a point. When did you last go to a wedding where all the women wore hats or weren't flashing the flesh? It's not just a lack of glamour, but the fault of those...

Do ladies really have to dress old & frumpy after a certain age...?

Well, I like to call it 'Beige disease' or 'Taupus maximus' it starts with the belief that you must have your lovely long hair cut into an unfeminine bubble perm, then rid your wardrobe of anything in a rich colour. Buy a zip up beige/taupe/mushroom windcheater and a pair of those shoes from...

Vanilla Bonfires the Christmas ham joint, marinated in honey, cloves and cider cooking on Christmas eve... A freshly bathed baby (how mumsy!) Aviation fuel! (but only on vintage aircraft)

    Aging

I've always admired you! (we've missed you on here! but you helped me with the titanic combs on Flickr!) I think you need to bring back the red and get into your vintage kit again!!! You're gorgeous ducky! Now no more silly talk about jowls or wrinkles....... tsk tsk!lol

    Windsmoor coat, fur collar dilemma

As a collector of vintage, I think you have to look at the era. If it is a vintage coat you're ruining a piece of history by removing the collar. I wouldn't buy fur now, but mainly because I don't like the look of it. I do have problems with peoples general attitudes to where their...
