That B&W pic is STUNNING!
I'm sorry to deviate slightly, but why aren't womens clothes advertised on a real figure like that anymore? I'm not a 12 yr old boy! I have curves. anyway-gorgeous! Apologies for:offtopic:

Hi Inky,
the Bundles for Britain started in 1940 as the American response to shortages here in the UK.
We have some items, sleeping bags, blankets and baby clothes that have little labels on 'Bundles for Britain' and some even say where the item was donated. The many Britons who were bombed...
Inky that's so lovely! I just posted the link on our WW2 website. The USA helped the UK out with 'Bundles for Britain' so it would be nice if some of the UK gals could knit their bit in return.
We meet so many lovely US veterans who come over for a 'last look' at the country they came to, flew...
I have to agree with Spitfire. I think all of the men on the FL are far too gentlemanly to behave that way.
But hey, I'm in Yorkshire. We're pretty broad minded!;)
There are so many amazing red haired ladies on here I wanted to start a thread regarding good red hair dyes.
Can anyone reccomend a good one for dark brown hair and what experiences have you had with home dyeing?
I'm tempted by the Live range (Scwarzkopf) but am unsure...

Lily Evangeline.
Just because I like it (and my son was a boy and I couldn't saddle him with it!:p but he nearly ended up as 'Darcy' due to a hormonal surge!)

Been with my partner for 6 years now...We do WW1 and WW2 Living history. I think we're both drifting more into the vintage lifestyle though...he keeps his hair in the style at work and recently grew a 'tache for WW1 Officer, but I kinda like it!!!
He keeps asking me to marry him and I keep...
This is the same pattern coat as was purchased by Polish Army and Air Force officers, I have one for Motorbiking!
I paid £40 for mine about ten years ago.
Well, my mum is 73 and very chic and active. She spent a long time detesting my look but I hear now (through my sisters) that she says things like 'oh, Kate is into this vintage look, it's very stylish actually' and she's proud of the TV and writing I do.
She still comes out with gems such as...
Still appalls me that the documentary makers took such lovely people as Jo, Debbie and Diane, who I see most weekends here in the WW2 scene in the UK and bullied them, harangued them and basically tried to make what is a lovely way of life into something heinous.
I watched Jo (Lola) perform...
I love the look of a scarf over a short crop, my friend ali decided to go from shoulder length to pixie crop and she still does WW2 Living history.
Another friend lost her hair due to chemo and it grew back into a sweet Samantha Jones style crop, she used to pin curl the ends and then wrap a...
Lots I miss, those who fell foul of the strict code of conduct-which is kind of why I found them endearing! Funny, the difference between Britain and the USA, I always thought we were quite 'buttoned up'
Hey ho!
Pretty apt, I'm trying to sort out a post drop for about 200 guys who are recreating the BEF's withdrawl from dunkirk in 2010.
The boys will be marching about 70miles in full kit, many of them retracing their grandfathers and Great-grandfathers footsteps!
I'm going to try in the next few...
