I think you hit it right on the head, Lizzie. The funny thing is, i personally know people who have this attitude, many of whom are "well-to do" and i know very well can afford to make an effort. It's almost like they think it makes them look eccentric if they show up at an event looking like...
I have recently started walking to work when the weather is fine, and because it is so windy and i don't want to arrive with my hair a mess, i wear a scarf, but I have an issue with hair static. Any tips on how to avoid this? or on how to smooth down the static once I get there??
well, MISSAMELINA, what good taste in books you have:) As soon as i saw the heading for this thread, i knew who my pick was going to be! I can't begin to tell you how many hours i have spent reading the OUTLANDER series and day dreaming about Jamie when i really should have been doing something...
I accept that not everyone is going to dress like me.and i don't think they should. It's just that for me, if i go out without taking the time to put myself together, i actually feel conspicuous.
What does bother me though,is that there at least was a time, when people dressed for certain...
Nice job! Funny thing, tonight i pulled out an embroidery project(pillowcases with violets on them) that i started 4 years ago! why oh why can't we just finish things lol

oh..but my favourite brand for scent free is Marcelle, although i think it's only available in Canada :(
I agree that it really depends on the individual. I'm 42 and wear red.I actually find pale lipstick just makes me look tired and actually ages me. I will say however, that i need to buy better lipstick now, something moisturizing, or else my lips look too dry, and that's a look that's aging...
I have to add my favourite shoe website, although i, for one, have never been able to afford any of them:rolleyes:

I LOVE it!!! Amazing job, adore the fabric! and i have a pair of ruby red maryjanes that are kind of sparkly that would go great with that . I would love to show up in church wearing that ensemble:D
My stylist is wonderfully responsive..and will do whatever i say...eventually.:D He will always say something like,"i think that will look wonderful on you" initially, then make some chatter and a few cautious snips, and then say at least 14 times.."ok, so before i go any further, are you SURE...
To Twitter or not to Twitter is not MY question...where are people finding time for all this??? I'm only on facebook to keep tabs on what my teenage sons are up to, and let me tell you Facebook has done nothing for my social life..in fact i have missed out on events because friends have sent me...
