    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

well, CRAZYDAISY, here's my math. I normally buy 1-2 new pairs of shoes a year, but that's because i have finicky feet that demands pricey shoes. But i know lots of gals buy several new pairs a year, but only spend $20-$30 a pair. so if my shoes are: 2 x $150= $300 and your shoes are: 10 x...

That one thing that you need to feel like yourself

..i can top that..i can't get out of bed without my coffee. I set the timer on my auto drip and set my alarm for about 10 minutes after that. I somehow manage to find my way downstairs to the kitchen, pour a cup of coffee and make my way BACK upstairs with it where i prop myself up in bed and...

    Thrift/Pass Out Now/Credit

this is the craziest thing i've heard in a long time. Besides the fact that this "snooping" is just plain wrong...why should someone assume that shopping at thrift stores means that you're struggling financially anyway? There are other reasons as well..such as simply wanting to use "recycled"...

lazydaisyltd...Funny you should mention KEDS:) I actually came to the same realization myself just a couple days ago and picked up a white pair at Sears, on sale, for $35. I LOVE them. Very light, they have enough support and yes, they are wide enough! I wore them to walk to work yesterday, and...

    Another One Bites the Dust

well, i suppose you have a good point:) Maybe instead of spending my energy looking back, and grieving over what's gone, i should focus on finding and supporting those new businesses that are trying to make a go of it now...so i'm not griping in another 5 years that they're gone too.

    Another One Bites the Dust

oh, i understand the business side of things,I'm speaking strictly from the heart. I know that many immigrants have moved to North America so their children can have a better life, and then put in many long backbreaking hours to give them that opportunity. From a purely emotional standpoint...

    Another One Bites the Dust

I was very sad to read in our morning paper here in Halifax of one of our long time mom & pop joints closing down. This place has been around since the 50's, and not a lot about it has changed since then. It breaks my heart to see closures like this. It is happening more and more here in...

    vintagey walking shoes

ok, so i have been trying to walk to work everyday which is about 3 miles, but i am obviously not going to be doing that in heels. I need to invest in a comfortable shoe that will not look to weird with a dress.I refuse to wear sneakers. Any other walkers here? and what do you wear on your feet.
