Wow Lady Day, I can't believe you found such old patterns in those sizes--size myth indeed! I espeicially love 5750 and, on the photobucket site, 6542 and photo #16.
Is there any way I could bribe you to make copies of a couple of those underwear...
What a lovely dress Lola--that's a real showstopper! I love your dresses too lyburnum, especially the cream one. And Lady Day's hat is so cute--I always love your pictures LD!
I must disagree with your mother lyburnum--you are always the eptiome of class in the photos you post here and, for the most part, I think the term "modern classy girl" is an oxymoron. Just stop by the Lounge if you want compliments!
Those are so lovely!
I saw a really nice line of saucer shaped champagne glasses at Crate and Barrel (of all places) but it looks like they've been discontinued, alas.
Tim Gunn is Chief Creative Officer for Liz Claiborne, but it sounds like that company's got a tough row to hoe. See this good article in Fast Company for more info: http://www.fastcompany.com/node/756468/
Lolita you look so adorable--a more glamorous Deanna Durbin! And if (after my hair grows out again) I could ever get curls that looked like BonnieJean's I could die a happy woman.
Well, Will Ferrell can do the frizzy hair but I don't know about his performance. This is another case where I just don't think there's enough plot for a feature film but, god knows, that never stopped Hollywood before!
This show gave me the creeps as a kid between the Sleetaks and the...
So great--I've never seen William S. Hart in a bathing suit before! I love the captions like "Clara Williams, reclining, ..." Quite a lot of stripes in these bathing costumes and I love the hats.
That swimsuit is great and I love the shape and color of the cigarette holder. Great to see Lady Day has new fabric--I hope that means we'll be seeing more of her fabulous creations soon!
I saw this recently and I enjoyed it but it could have been much better. The film makers in the 1930's made their comedies look so effortless; I couldn't help but think that Leatherheads showed how hard it really is to make a good screwball/1930's style comedy.
I thought there was plenty...
Those shoes are off the hook fabulous Darhling--it's amazing you can even stand it them! I'll bet the La Perla items are lovely too--they have such beautiful lingerie.
My condolences.
I was with a friend once as she was packing to go on a week's vacation with her in-laws. Thinking of helping her pack the car or some such I asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?" She looked at me and said "Pray for me!"
I've been trying to be a good girl and not spend money and this thread is so helpful--it's like vicarious shopping! Beautiful things you're all getting!
