Two of my girl friends: "Do you want to go see that movie with Hugh Jackman and Ewan MacGregor this weekend?"
Me: "What's the plot?"
GFs: "It's Hugh Jackman and Ewan MacGregor...who cares!"
They do have a point (but the movie looks like dreck).
Zohar, I thought this sounded suspiciously like Mister B. (I love The Onion)! The writing made me laugh out loud (my favorite lines; "You are my one true girl, each and every one of you." and, for some odd reason, "There will also be corn.").
I was also entertained by imagining the eye...
Swing Time is my favorite--I think Pick Yourself Up is at the top of my list of all their numbers (Ginger's "Listen, no one could teach you to dance in a million years!" to Fred is one of my favorite movie moments) and then you have Never Gonna Dance, A Fine Romance and The Way You Look Tonight...
I was staying at a friend's summer house this weekend and I noticed this picture. I'll have to ask what year the wedding was but I love the bride's attire and the fact that she's wearing glasses. I'd guess this was sometime in the 1920s.
I went to Mount Holyoke and that's the first thing they drilled into us too--it's not a girl's school it's a women's college.
What a great clip! I loved seeing all the different coats. I was trying to identify the locations, was that Neilson Library in one of the shots?
I grew up using a handmedown Kirby that probably dated to the late 40s. It finally broke after about 45 years of service and I'll bet it could have been repaired if my mother had spent more time looking for a good shop. Modern ones just don't compare.
