I saw Married Life last night. Enjoyable but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. I think it should have been either darker or funnier. The acting was strong (I especially liked Chris Cooper) and it had great clothes, cars and decor. I'm glad I saw it in a theater.
The Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline will be showing silent films with live musical accompaniment.

I'm particularly excited to see the second one on the big screen.
I am so excited to see pictures of this--I've never seen an example of a Ladies Palm Beach suit. How lucky that it fell into the hands of someone who realizes what a treasure it is!
I adore the fabric, it's so sharp!
I've seen several booklets from the 40's on how to make a ladies suit from a man's suit so perhaps that's what happened here? I defer to Vintage Betty though, she's our resident expert.
I just scored two adorable Mizrahi dresses from Target that could be straight from the 1950s. I'm so pleased with the quality (fully lined, nice fabric and details) and they were under $40 each. I'm going to wear one of them with the Ladies Traveling Hat so I'll post pictures then but I wanted...
Everything's so pretty! Aren't vintage graphics the best? I have an old powder box that I've repurposed on my vanity. I can't remember the brand, I'll have to look when I get home.
So many nice outfits!
I love the hits of red in your outfit DDD, and are those espadrilles?
Paddy, that suit is gorgeous and I covet that blouse Lola--so pretty!
Great cufflinks PM!
I'm happy to see pictures of Dita if they turn up (she does have a fabulous wardrobe) but I don't follow her exploits. Her interviews tend to be rather amusing. I chuckled when Dita said she isn't really a tight lacer--after all, her waist is 18" That's Scarlett O'Hara territory!
